@@thomas-ud1fs because quattro was awd. im not sure if the m1 had it but lot of rwd rally cars had it. i dont know exactly why but the pretty crude awd systems of the time didnt allow the use of a handbrake which is why awd gr b cars did not feature a handbrake.
Weird choise for a car to go rallying with but i like the idea since it really shows how loose the rules was in rally back then. A truly lovely car. Not the best choise but as i said very interresting.
The 288 GTO was the road version of the evoluzione wich in its turn was ment for group B racing but never happened. The 288 GTO might have been used in a few rally events as well but not as far as i know. The 308 GTB however was used in group 4 and then carried over to group B.

It's all about putting M1 Procar Gr5 car into rally stages - weird idea. It's as if Lancia team left clunky Beta Montecarlo Gr5 for a rally instead of 037, but they didn't.

Si, hermoso auto. Y Beguin era un muy buen piloto, pero el motor siempre se rompia. Cuando no era el motor, era la caja, embrague, siempre se rompia. Beguin incluso se colo en el 3er lugar en tour de corse del 83, el auto tenia potencial. Mal por bmw france q fueron unos inutiles

It was expensive, It was unsucessfull, unusual ,clumsy for rally but very cool, powerfull and spectacular.
