the landing pad as cool as it looks its blocking th entire view of the table in the far shots. I would much rather see it as a back round piece of the terrain up by the shelves so that its not in the way.
Great vid guys. As far as Compulsory Moves go: page 17 of The learn to play guide says “A compulsory move is a move, not a move action, and does not count as one of the two actions a unit can perform during the Activation Phase.” So if a vehicle has a compulsory move, it moves it’s speed once, then gets two actions (which can both be move actions since you haven’t taken a move action yet). So the air speeder can move, aim, then fire all in the same round. Hope that helps.
A few more rules mistakes this time around. The airspeeder does have a compulsory move as that comes from the speeder keyword. Pierce removes up to X block results so when vader attacked that rebel unit they would still have rolled 5 dice then removed up to 3 of the block results.
@28:00 When stormtrooper shoot AT-RT, I think you should make a attack pool with all weapons (4x White dices + 3x Black for rocket) with Impact 3. So you can use Impact on white dices too.
When you set up your board, please do not put the biggest terrain piece in the front blocking our view of the table. you guys often do this. think of what the camera is looking at. that is what we see.
Thanks for these vids chaps and thanks for responding positively to viewer comments regarding the rules, these are important to note for all of us who'll be learning the rules in the next few months. Cheers.
These videos are a god-send, thank you for playing and sharing! :) I don't have a local gaming shop or much leisure time/free income to play/paint Legions myself, so I get to live vicariously through you guys ^_^ I did like how professional the setup is, video is well done (love the transitions and jump cuts during the actions) but I concur with one of the other comments about having tall terrain between the primary camera and the action ... might there be a way to avoid that in the future? Also also - would it be possible to add in some kinda low ambient music in the background of the audio for those pauses and moments when you guys aren't talking? Small change, but it would make the listening experience better. Thanks again, keep up the good games!
When you reviewed Standing Order before the play you corrected yourself of 4 pips, activating 1 unit. However during Jerry's first move (standing order) he activated 4 units, the order card clearly state 1 unit, which you corrected in the beginning review. Am i missing something ?
If you get you hands on them, I'd love to see some games played with the alternate commanders: Princess Leia and Gen. Veers for the initial release I believe?
Great video! Had a question though...did y’all make a house rule that the figures didn’t need to be flat on table at end of the move? I asked because the speeder was landed on top of the roof and was unlevel which I believe would damage the vehicle upon stopping.
The salt is strong with this one.... Seriously though thanks for the video guys don't worry about the hate you've been getting about the rules. While it is important to show the game properly for people on the fence I think by showing where you went wrong you've done you're due diligence.
while that's cool and all, this isn't their first game and they are still making really basic "i'm not gonna read da card and just make it up" kind of mistakes.
I was rather enjoying that the lil'bald guy kept rolling 5 dice rather than 6... it was fun to wonder if he would get his head right and now that the audience has it cleared up for him... there will be less cheer in the world!
Howdy team! I could be wrong but i think you just took a "standby action" with that ATST. I believe that standby actions can only be done by trooper units. New games. Teething issue. Keep up the great content!
Nice beautiful battle report! I have ohne question: Are the buildings just out of the box or did you someone modifications, additional psintings on them?
The weakness in the rear adds 1 impact. IIRC, he already had 3 impact and only 2 dice rolled hits. The added impact from the rear arc did him no favors.
Great report......please buy more dice. Its very hard to follow with keeping up with your rolls for a newer player because y'all dont hace enough dice. Otherwise very great. I learned a lot. Thanks guyz
I thought deflect works so that you spend you'd dodge token to negate one hit, then that triggers deflect for surges. The way you play it is you spend it for the surge conversion but don't get the dodge. I don't think that's right.
what makes you think everyone runs the harpoon? it suck and the ground buzzer is way better, and its still only got a range of 2. save yourself some points and just don't put anything on the back.
I have the bunker and the large flat "tech area" pieces that are in the middle of the battlefield and they are brilliant! Easy to assemble and look authentic even without painting. They're made of 3mm MDF, rather than card so are very sturdy. You can also take the roof of the bunker off to access the inside, although with Legion's cover rules I'm not sure I'd want to take a squad of troopers inside as they're just rats in a barrel in there.
Damn, that accent. Sounds cool. Anyway, at around 21:00, you should have moved the speeder at max distance (compulsory move rules) but then it was a "free "move so you could have aimed and shot. You also keep saying it doesn't have impact but it does... Because it shoots a lot! Lots of potential crits.
As mentioned in response to other comments. This match was filmed before the intro. He stated in the intro that he had made that mistake and will correct his play for future videos.
You should really start going slow in start time Evelyn that if you don't know the game just told them about one all OK and you probably need to punch and I think O you should play someone different
I just realized that the reason they are screwing up again is because the actual game session was filmed on the same day as the other 2 videos, while the introduction was added to address that they did screw up the rules and fixed them for future videos.
They did that right. Arsenal 2 lets it shoot 2 of its weapons in its attack, not shoot twice. When he attacked, he rolled all the dice at once instead of each weapon individually. Alternatively, he could have fired each weapon at separate targets if he wished.
Same person I love your videos I'm even subscribed I'm not so scarred but I love your videos I just like them so much but my dad won't let all my mom won't let me a subscribe saw we but love you love love love love love love love love love love will love will love love love love love 11
FFS. At 1:20 you mention about putting orders on 4 units instead of just the one, then the 1st thing you do in the game at 6:13 is get it wrong. READ THE CARD. You are still rolling the wrong amount of dice after talking about it at the start.
I guess you didn't hear the part about that they recorded all of the videos at the same time, and that the rules errors will persist through all of the videos and that was in fact the entire point of the beginning rules explanation segment. LISTEN TO THE VIDEO
I misheard that. I thought the previous 2 videos were done, then this one after they had read the comments. My mistake. Apologies. Hopefully they will make more videos with the correct rules being followed. It would make the games play out very differently with having not as many units having orders.
It's great that you like it. You're the first person that I know that seems to think it's cool. From the way you wrote, you haven't played it or seen it live. LVO it was live, and I haven't heard a single person who saw it give it a good review.
Thats correct, I havent played or seen it in person so im still holding my final judgement but from what ive seen and gathered online its enough interest to at least get a core box. And after that ill know how I really feel about it. Ive played a few games through TTS but while that gives me a good sense of how the game plays, I wont count it as experience since the actual physical experience is something completely different. This just seem to hit the perfect balance between easy play and difficult decisions. Very few situations where something is in question, many tactical choices to be made by the player and so far every action, unit, weapon and equipment seem to all have its place one way or another. And no insane amounts of dice and rerolls needed to reach a point of balance. This is unlikely to stay true when more expansions are released, as is true for every other similar game, but so far im at least impressed enough to grab a core set at release. After that, who knows :)
I have played a couple games and can tell you it is very fun. It is probably the most intuitive system I have ever played. I am happy to finally have a squad based game that is easy, fun, and happens to be in my favorite genre.
the landing pad as cool as it looks its blocking th entire view of the table in the far shots. I would much rather see it as a back round piece of the terrain up by the shelves so that its not in the way.

yeah that has been really bugging me too.
Same here...so frustrating. Make the batrep hard to watch.
Well the card did say Limited Visibility ... :)
Then make your own crybaby
Why place something that blocks the view?
Thanks for these vids chaps and thanks for responding positively to viewer comments regarding the rules, these are important to note for all of us who'll be learning the rules in the next few months. Cheers.
We always make sure to keep it fun than too serious. :)
Don't forget about compulsory moves on speeders, double check how suppression works as well.
@44 minutes when Vader double moved he could have thrown his lightsaber due to "Relentless".
Zombane That is correct sir
The audio quality here is legit. It's like Star Wars Legion: ASMR.
Tingle away brother.
These videos are a god-send, thank you for playing and sharing! :)

the start of the video was clearly filmed after the match
If you get you hands on them, I'd love to see some games played with the alternate commanders: Princess Leia and Gen. Veers for the initial release I believe?
love that you respond to fan comment in the video.nice to know people are being heard
Great video! Had a question though...did y’all make a house rule that the figures didn’t need to be flat on table at end of the move? I asked because the speeder was landed on top of the roof and was unlevel which I believe would damage the vehicle upon stopping.
Just some constructive criticism here, that landing pad was blocking waaaaaay too much of the board.
I've played against Gerry many times and he does tend to forget about the mission. Saying that so did I.
T47 does have a compulsory move.
Thrindal and impact
The salt is strong with this one....
Seriously though thanks for the video guys don't worry about the hate you've been getting about the rules. While it is important to show the game properly for people on the fence I think by showing where you went wrong you've done you're due diligence.

Joe Boss i love when brodudes comment on videos without watching them
Howdy team! I could be wrong but i think you just took a "standby action" with that ATST. I believe that standby actions can only be done by trooper units. New games. Teething issue. Keep up the great content!
yeap only troops can standby
I really like your videos but please don't play behind such massive objects.. most of the time, I couldn't see anything
Question: Isn't there a command radius for activations based on the commander (Luke, Vader) units?
Nice beautiful battle report! I have ohne question: Are the buildings just out of the box or did you someone modifications, additional psintings on them?
hard to watch when they dont read the cards, standing orders is not for 4 units. says on the card ...1 unit
yeah, kind of ridiculous it says it right in the middle of the damn card "1 UNIT"
Is the building from TTcombat? The one in front.
Great serie of videos! Very enjoyable. Will you upload more battles like this, now without the mistakes? i really enjoy these ones.
@48 mins should the snowspeeder get more of a benefit for shooting at the ATST rear due to the ATST weak point?
The weakness in the rear adds 1 impact. IIRC, he already had 3 impact and only 2 dice rolled hits. The added impact from the rear arc did him no favors.
so the building on the overall shot ruins this report sorry..its blocks all LOS to whats going on.....
You are correct. They misplayed that.
Who’s bright idea was it to put camera line of sight blocking terrain?
any chance of getting other videos, with proper rules , before the launch?
what makes you think everyone runs the harpoon? it suck and the ground buzzer is way better, and its still only got a range of 2. save yourself some points and just don't put anything on the back.
Please make more videos on Star Wars Legion. They are great to watch
On round 4, Luke was dead so you couldn't play his command card.
Nice battle report. Would like to see an army overview before the game.
Can you use looks cards, when he is dead. Same question for Vader?
Love the videos, best so far for Legion... It's unfortunate that you guys arent really using the full board, but I understand the reasons behind it.
hey the big bridge looks really cool but i cant see anything.
What company makes the gaming mat your using in this battle report ? Great video
GameMat.eu makes the mat.
Great terrain, what kind of tree’s are those? :)
4Ground terrain trees.
@@OnTableTop do they still sell that? Their site doesn't have them anywhere.
Hey guys, can you post the link for who is making that awesome card terrain. Looks like they will be getting some business!
www.battlekiwi.com/ Makes the terrain from a recent Kickstarter.
Can a unit attack (shoot) and then move?
What is the terrain? Is it from 4grounds? Can't find it on the website
www.battlekiwi.com/ Made the terrain on their recent Kickstarter.
@48 mins the Snowspeeder should have preformed a compulsory 2 move as it has "Speeder 2". (Not trying to be a dick just highlighting)
You played piercing wrong. It cancels X block symbols on rolled dice, whereas you had them roll X fewer dice.
Does anyone know what range the MDF buildings here are from?
It was a kick starter done by battlekiwi.com
Damn, that accent. Sounds cool.
Anyway, at around 21:00, you should have moved the speeder at max distance (compulsory move rules) but then it was a "free "move so you could have aimed and shot. You also keep saying it doesn't have impact but it does... Because it shoots a lot! Lots of potential crits.
Contents of two core sets but only using one lot of dice?
Luke is his own unit leader.
Only troopers can do the stand action.
I'LL be GD if he didn't roll 5 Stupid-dice for Luke... AGAIN! 44:15
As mentioned in response to other comments. This match was filmed before the intro. He stated in the intro that he had made that mistake and will correct his play for future videos.
You said UP TO NOW so I took that to mean the first two games, but not this game. Cheers! Keep making cool videos.
Changed my thumbs down to a thumbs up after your reply. 😎
I sense a lack of concentrated firepower from the Rebels.
Yes, another game!
Happy May the 4th!
YES...i was waiting for this.
Are you chaps making another now that the full rules are out?
Tune in this Sunday 5pm GMT for a full LIVE Let's Play of Star Wars Legion.
More info on our website.
Needs moar army lists!!
great vid, poor camera placement
Vraiment hâte d'y jouer! !!
New phone who dis?
Great Video very funny
It’s funny they made the empire expensive in this game after the rebels being so in xwing.
You mean to tell me...that you didn't get everything down immediately upon picking this game up? WTF is wrong with you?!
*NOOBS!*
us a fucking list
You should really start going slow in start time Evelyn that if you don't know the game just told them about one all OK and you probably need to punch and I think O you should play someone different
you played standing orders wrong again after talking about doing it wrong about 2 seconds before hand -_-
jesus christ they did..like right away
I just realized that the reason they are screwing up again is because the actual game session was filmed on the same day as the other 2 videos, while the introduction was added to address that they did screw up the rules and fixed them for future videos.
If you listened to the explanation at the start it was because these were all filmed on the same day.
the atst can shoot twice
They did that right. Arsenal 2 lets it shoot 2 of its weapons in its attack, not shoot twice. When he attacked, he rolled all the dice at once instead of each weapon individually. Alternatively, he could have fired each weapon at separate targets if he wished.
Sex turns??? =D
Same person I love your videos I'm even subscribed I'm not so scarred but I love your videos I just like them so much but my dad won't let all my mom won't let me a subscribe saw we but love you love love love love love love love love love love will love will love love love love love 11
Wow... That's a lot of mortgage payments sitting on your shelves back there... Just sayin'...
less joy and happiness from non bold player pls! So indecent.
FFS. At 1:20 you mention about putting orders on 4 units instead of just the one, then the 1st thing you do in the game at 6:13 is get it wrong. READ THE CARD. You are still rolling the wrong amount of dice after talking about it at the start.

1RobW yeah you need to watch the video
1RobW lul, pay attention to what is actually happening when you watch something...especially before you comment...
I misheard that. I thought the previous 2 videos were done, then this one after they had read the comments. My mistake. Apologies.
Hopefully they will make more videos with the correct rules being followed. It would make the games play out very differently with having not as many units having orders.
Hopefully we will get another video soon with correct rules
Not gonna lie this looks very boring. Didn't hear good things at LVO either.
Brian Spalliero I think it looks pretty cool for the genre. The activations, the movement and the way shooting works all seem really smooth.
It's great that you like it. You're the first person that I know that seems to think it's cool. From the way you wrote, you haven't played it or seen it live. LVO it was live, and I haven't heard a single person who saw it give it a good review.
