2008? It was built in 1987 within a very short time, to host the All -Africa games. Played there in the 90s. It's been that way since inception.
Y'all have to understand how difficult amd dangerous it is to play with the walls that close to the out-of-bounds line. I've seen people knocked out cold. But I'm glad basketball is progressing. The motherland will produce some of the best!

Were fans cheering for both teams equally? Or it Kenyans vs "Kenyans"? Who is home and who is away? Or are both teams home?
Kenya was the home team. There's a HUGE immigrant and refugee population from South Sudan living in Kenya. Naturally they flocked to the stadium in large numbers. Kenyans are too busy hustling and won't easily be swayed to commute to the stadium for an evening game. They were outnumbered by the Sudanese fans. Same thing happens whenever there's a Kenya vs Somali game in Nairobi. The immigrants, plus Kenyan Somalis (that support Somali) will outnumber the Kenyan fans.

Methinks it's a very good nickname. Morans are virile Maasai warriors that love jumping contests. Similar to jumping in basketball. The Maasai are famous worldwide for preserving their culture, and are very symbolic to Kenya (and Tanzania). Would you rather the team was nicknamed Wanainchi Stars, or something like that? The Stars name is cliche in Kenya now.

The paddings at either ends of the court are high standard. You can sprint into them without any problem. Writing as someone that trained and played on that court for years. And, the Kenyan players are faster than the South Sudanese.
