    Stupid title...we all know Nairobi is the largest city in East and Central Africa

    • @mkijazi
      @mkijazi หลายเดือนก่อน +63

      The word "large" with respect to cities is usually used for size of the city (area) or population size. In both population size and area-wise Dar is far larger than Nairobi. Area-wise Dar is more than twice the size of Nairobi. Population-wise, Nairobi has around 6.5 million people, Dar es Salaam has over 8 million people. Area-wise, Nairobi is 696 km² while Dar es Salaam is 1,591 km²

      Some cities are well organized, people can't be everywhere doing everything 😂😂😂
      Unlike your villages. In Dar es salaam different activities are done in different areas.
      You want a CBD to have markets , hawkers, Matatu stage, offices, hotel, up country buses parkings and people running up and down the Streets like zombies or mad people 😅😅😅
      Then you call this rubbish the city being busy.😂😂😂

    • @ngamaizinzi3987
      @ngamaizinzi3987 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      Dar es salaam has allocated different activities away from the cbd to decongest the city.
      Example Markets like kariakoo which is large and busiest in East and central Africa. here is where you can feel the real population of Dar
      Country bus terminals, the terminals are built very far from CBD more than 20km so no buses in the city centre
      City bus terminals (daladala) , they are modern and well built on the direction of their routes ( if the buses go to the neighborhood in the west side of the city t centre, then the terminal is at the west side few miles from the city centre) so no much congestion as everyone will go exactly to the direction where their heading. Hakuna kushinda ukitafuta Matatu ya kwenda kwenu ndo unekane ati uko busy
      Apart from kkoo every district 5 have their own morden in door and open markets where you get everything you need.
      Plus the brt system, make it easier for people to move around, people can't be stranded on the city centre,

I am talking about how the city residents don't match the vibe of the city center , or rather they look poor. There people selling fruits and shoes on sidewalks , some are even sleeping on the pavement , Bertin keeps complaining about "criminals" using pavements and roads however they want , is that organisation ? I believe you saw Bertins Vedio of Nairobi CBD , you could tell the human capital of Nairobi are well dressed and deep pocketed. Dar's downtown around kariakoo is way worse than Nairobi's Mwamlima shared the vedio , chaos everywhere hawkers steaking clothes in your face for you to buy 😂 give me a break.

    The size of a city is determined in terms if her GDP, population and area size. In GDP, Nairobi is the largest in Eastern and Central Africa. In terms of population and area size, Dar is the largest. Compare New York, USA to Shanghai, China. The land size of Shanghai is almost four times the size of New York. In terms of population, still Shanghai is almost thrice the the population of New York. Overally, New is greater than Shanghai due to her GDP. The brain is the engine of the body; it's the brain that controls the body, so New York still wins. Similarly, Nairobi is considered the largest city in Eastern and Central Africa due to her GDP. There is something hidden to many people about the GDP of a city or a nation. Economists will tell you that GDP reflects alot of things about the people: the industrious nature of the people and how hardworking they are as well as their ingenuity; the technology used in the production and the delivery of services and goods. The GDP matters a lot.

      Too much brah brah brah... When will you style up my Kenyan friends... Let me school you by saying GDP is not the true measure of the economy but PPP... Talking about the US and comparing it with China is just like comparing history to reality... The infrastructure of the USA is as old as my great grandfather... China is more modern and is adopting smart cities.... With that said the GDP on US will only remain on paper and graphically is at the inertia point while
      that of China keeps on growing... The same applies to that of Kenya and Tanzania... Nairobi has no modern public transport and you're busy talking about GDP... Dar is at the moment constructing the sewage system all over the city.... There will be no need for septic tanks...

Matatu works!! And you have daladalas that are very old and ugly!! So stop behaving as if you are so modern!! You have EMU and Kenya has DMU! You have SGR, Kenya ha SGR.. Difference is that Kenya's is diesel!! But they function the same and there is minimal speed difference!! Plus, Kenya's, SGR has the caabilitubto electric. Kenya I only using diesel due to power supply issues. You folks ran for electric and keeps stalling. Nairobi is the fourth welathiest city and has advanced real estate!! I ahev no idea why you Tanzanians are confused and obsessed vwith Kenya. Kenyans have no time for TZ and are not threatened by TZ in any way!! We are two different countries that have their owwn issues. So you can scream about BRT and SGR bit fact remains Kenyabis more developed and bigger economy than TZ a!! Don't even misinterpret Ruto!! Nairobi covers a larger area in terms of its metropolitan region, including its suburban areas, while Dar es Salaam is more compact in comparison to its population size.

    • @NerdNovaTech
      @NerdNovaTech หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@lakasid3860 Let’s set the record straight: Nairobi doesn’t need multiple CBDs to prove its dominance. Nairobi’s single CBD alone generates more economic activity than Dar es Salaam's entire urban network. Add to that Upper Hill, Westlands, Kilimani, and Karen these aren’t just suburbs, they’re high-income areas housing corporate headquarters, embassies, and luxury developments. That’s Nairobi’s power.
      Now, about the 20km claim within 20km of Nairobi's CBD, you’ll find hubs like Ruaka, Runda, Karen, and Athi River, all highly developed and thriving. Meanwhile, Nairobi’s infrastructure, from its airports (Jomo Kenyatta International Airport is East Africa's busiest) to its tech scene as Africa’s Silicon Savannah, places it on a level Dar es Salaam can only dream of.
      Dar might be expanding with multiple ‘CBDs,’ but the depth of Nairobi’s urban development, economy, and influence across the continent is unmatched. Comparing the two isn’t even fair Nairobi wins every time. Let me know when Dar gets close to Nairobi's global stature, then we can have this conversation
