Great batrep with gorgeous miniatures but that one sauron combat was one of the most tragic and unlikely dice results at a key moment I have ever seen in miniature wargaming period.
admittedly I wasn't paying super close attention but man alive the board, minis, and overall visuals were awesome. Also as always great synergy between you two and the editing as well. Honestly think this may be one of the best ones you've done
I would have 2 handed only with Elrond since he already has his elven blade that gives +1 to wound against Spirits: a +2 against a defence 10 dude it’s very juicy
Using an anecdotal example in which 6 non-twohanding dice didn't roll higher than a four hardly proves your point. Given Jacob already had a +1 from Elrond, two-handing is a good option a lot of the time.
Great bat rep, really enjoyed it, noticed one thing but I may have missed you mentioning it, did you roll for Elrond and Gil-Galads terror when charging them? Noticed it specifically at 21:58 when Sauron charged Gil-Galad without doing a courage check. Just wanted to know as that may have saved the elves in the long run. 😅
The ringberears campaign I very much look forward too :) I don't have that mnay different armies/models to do many of the scenarios in it and not enough varied terrain. You guys sure do so...
It look like all the good heros just could not have any good luck all game. It started in the first fight phase with all of them loosing combats and it did the same at the end VS Sauron
I'm sooooooooo disappointed Sauron did not burn Gil-Galad with his fire hand Brutal Power Attack. Yes its not as good, but it would have been so thematic! oh well. Still happy to see that Sauron was the one who killed him. Nice job!
Missed opportunity, but there’s lots that goes into these videos so understandable when they so macro-focused. I appreciate that compared to other videos that do something silly only because it’s “theme”
Nice batrep, even if the dice disagreed with the heroics. Though I am of the opinion that Trolls have no place in any battle that happens on the slopes of mount doom. They push the balance of the battle too far, with Sauron on the field. Anyway, this was nice to watch.
Thanks for the comment! Great question, the Lord of the West" special rule is an active special rule which means that if you are transfixed you are not able to use it
Amazing video. I am looking forward to the new edition from Games Workshop. With this, Warhammer the old world and bolt action 3rd edition coming out, it's going to be a busy time.
ive been trying hard to fin stl of quest of the ringbearer terrain. where can i get the files from you guys? i cant find them on your website. or patreon
The Good dice don't actually roll. The just land flat, a bit like the huge boulder next to Gothmog on the fields of the Pelannor. Nice symbols but a true horror show to use.
Doesn’t make a huge difference- usually Sauron heads towards the reinforcement points or stays back. There is a bit more room to manoeuvre on the bigger board though.
All the 2-handing was the correct choice. There wasn't going to be a better chance of killing Sauron. Without the 2-handing, he statistically would've done like 2 wounds only. Also the odds of getting nothing higher than a 2 on 4 dice is 1.25%. It was just crazy bad luck, but correct play. Sometimes the correct play loses, ask poker players.
Ehh, it was absolutely the correct call. Failing 4 dice looking for a 3+ is a 1% chance and with the two support dice that could have brought the 6 it was even less. Its like picking between a 99.2% and a 99.6% or something where the first one has way better payoff.
@@Corppi22 It is a shame people are using this as a win against two-handing. The odds were way in Jacobs favor and he could have possibly killed Sauron with 4/3 on Elrond and 5/4 on Izzy, with doubled dice.
Why are you running elves forward...it makes no sense you have archer superiority? .... Don't go easy on your friend....you already gave him the scenic advantage of having respawning orcs.
Thanks for the comment, we were playing "The Last Alliance" scenario from the Armies of Lord of the Rings book which gave us all the rules and participants. Sitting back with the elves and shooting was an option but the Orcs come back indefinitely so it would not have gotten me a big advantage and the goal was to kill Sauron who has powerful magic so I wanted to charge forwards to get to him!
Great batrep with gorgeous miniatures but that one sauron combat was one of the most tragic and unlikely dice results at a key moment I have ever seen in miniature wargaming period.
I always love seeing Sauron in games
Are you four guys sharing a TH-cam account?
Oh heck yeah I love when channels bust out the big models
This has gotta be one of the most cinematic MESBG bat reps I've seen in a long time! Great video!
Asweome models/paint job as always
Jeremy has the luck of the gods in every game I’ve seen of him 😂
Really great battle report, and gorgeous minis ! Nice to see big battle reps.
Calling so many two handed on Sauron though 😂...
Jeremy called it with “you were over confident”
admittedly I wasn't paying super close attention but man alive the board, minis, and overall visuals were awesome. Also as always great synergy between you two and the editing as well. Honestly think this may be one of the best ones you've done
Wanted to complement you on the editing in this video. Great report. Enjoy your guest as well.
I'm so glad this is going to be a series! Thank you
36:50 This is why you never two hand friends
At least not with everyone😅
Not getting anything higher than a 2 on all those rolls was some terrible luck.
I would have 2 handed only with Elrond since he already has his elven blade that gives +1 to wound against Spirits: a +2 against a defence 10 dude it’s very juicy

This is such a great batrep! Keep up the amazing work 👌🏻
How are these miniatures so gorgeously painted?! Crazy.
Sounds like some awesome batreps with quest of the ringbearer! Looking very very much forward for it!
fantastic battle report. love the green lighting.
Excellent video! I'm looking forward to the series.
Why you gotta kill me like that?
7:30 High King of Gondor and Arnor OR/AND the Faithful Numenorians (since the Black Numenorians or King's Men live in Umbar)
Very nice battle report. The table and armies were gorgeous.
26:30 Into darkness fell his star in Mordor where the shadows are
Oh my god Jacob, how bad can one roll? :D What a great Video!
What a battle. Suberb editing as always.
So excited for this series 🙌
Fantastic battle report, awesome game. Wow, those rolls!
Fantastic video, and Sorry to be that guy, but I think at 2:15 you mean prologue mate
It's great to see Jeremy and his miniatures playing. I think he still would have won even if the rolls had been more in Jacobs favor.
Lovely pictures and filming intro love the green elfs

It's great to see Sauron on the table he has such presents on the table . Great scenario guys can't wait for the rest of the campaign.
The ringberears campaign I very much look forward too :)
I don't have that mnay different armies/models to do many of the scenarios in it and not enough varied terrain. You guys sure do so...
Great battle report!!
Would REALLY like to see a rematch on this scenario. It was awesome!
Jacob, my man. Those rolls....I'm unlucky but DAMN. 😭
What an awesome game! Can’t wait for QotR and seeing the great prints you have for the scenarios!
Excited to see this series! Would love to see some war in Rohan in the future, maybe for new edition?
Love these huge field battles, bit of a shame that the dice didn't cooperate
Epic battle report. Thanks.
Absolutely brilliant thematic game. Really good watch.
Very excited about the Quest of the Ringbearer campaign!!
This was a great watch.
It look like all the good heros just could not have any good luck all game. It started in the first fight phase with all of them loosing combats and it did the same at the end VS Sauron
Great battle report.
Is there a way on how to get the paint job scheme of Jeremy’s stunning elves???
I'm sooooooooo disappointed Sauron did not burn Gil-Galad with his fire hand Brutal Power Attack. Yes its not as good, but it would have been so thematic! oh well. Still happy to see that Sauron was the one who killed him. Nice job!

Great work Guys. 👍

Great job guys!
So excited for quest of the ring bearer would love to see some scenes from the movie put in there
27:09 why spend 2 might on Elrond when he has a re-roll available with lord of the west you could use first?
Thanks for the comment! Great question, the Lord of the West" special rule is an active special rule which means that if you are transfixed you are not able to use it
Epic game! Can't wait for Farmer maggot to defend his crops!
Amazing video. I am looking forward to the new edition from Games Workshop. With this, Warhammer the old world and bolt action 3rd edition coming out, it's going to be a busy time.
Loved this

44:55 Lord of the Rings! Lord of the Earth!
Looking forward to the campaign!
The Good dice don't actually roll. The just land flat, a bit like the huge boulder next to Gothmog on the fields of the Pelannor. Nice symbols but a true horror show to use.
Where did you get them One Ring dice from please?
My friends and I just got enough minis together to do this Mission, but not a 6ft by 4ft Table. do you feel its really necessary?
Doesn’t make a huge difference- usually Sauron heads towards the reinforcement points or stays back. There is a bit more room to manoeuvre on the bigger board though.
Loved it. Is there a guide on how you made the modular board?

that luck man lmfao
I've never been a big fan of this scenario, at least the board and models looked fantastic!
This was great
Oh baby that's the stuff
How does Jeremy win with one major hero Vs 4!!! Madness! The dice gods where not on Jacobs side at all. Great game gentlemen
I got lucky in the key combat. Sauron is usually fine against a single hero, but doesn’t like fighting a few at once.
Epilogue? Don’t you mean prologue?
That is exactly what I meant, it was a smooth brain moment for me hahaha
Wooo ORCS won!!!
How you fudged that combat with Sauron. Greedy with all the double handers .
Ehh, it was absolutely the correct call. Failing 4 dice looking for a 3+ is a 1% chance and with the two support dice that could have brought the 6 it was even less. Its like picking between a 99.2% and a 99.6% or something where the first one has way better payoff.

That's what you get for opposing me
