    Great video, it's nice to see how each part is sewn.
    A little more detail on making the rolled seam would be nice.
    You've done a great job, thanks!

    My man! Great video buddy. I am currently making my own tarp from normal polyester lining and will finish it with the same impregnation process you are using but for the whole thing. 1 part silicone 3 parts mineral spirits (odorless).
    Stay safe

    I did something similar. Used poly cotton queen flat sheet and silicone saturated it. I use large plastic beads for buttons. It doubles as a cloak-puncho if I need a waterproof poncho. Round beads for buttons. Much less effort to get going. It's not ultralight but I carry few items anyway.

    If you had to re-do this, would make this with a catenary ridgeline instead ? How's it been holding up since you made it?

    Looks pretty good! What is the final weight of the tarp? And which kind of silpoly was it? I am guessing the Momentum? Thanks.☺

    Except when you're sewing that large material like that if you put them on paint rollers or it gets a real rollers for like wood or metal shop stuff for sawing a board works really well but you can DIY your own paint rollers by putting a long cardboard tube over the paint rollers on chin and then using paint sticks in buckets to hold it up and you roll material from one roller to the next roller sewing in between

    you need a set of rollers in the fornt like the ones to roll out steel to hold your sheets

    Hi cheers for the video, very tempted curious as to what kind of size this packs down to in the end?

      Just the tarp is probably about the size of a liter of water.

  • @funkdrummer

    I am kind of curious as to what part of the country you live in? You have what sounds awful lot like a Rez accent.

      I have lived all over the west. Iowa, Utah, Southern California, Texas, and Washington. It is a true mix.

    how well do those line locks hold on the guy out points? and what size cord are you using with it?

    • @FinallyMe78
      @FinallyMe78  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Marshall Jones-Paragon Fury So far, they are holding up fine. I haven't had any problems. I haven't been in crazy wind with it, but I have been in some decent wind. I haven't had any slippage. I am using 2mm cord.

    Half and half ratio on the sil mineral spirits?

    • @JasperJanssen
      @JasperJanssen 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don’t think it’s that critical - just dilute until thickness is as desired.
