It comes down to two things: Knowledge and Tools. If you have the knowledge to figure things out when things go awry, (like snow blowing into the shelter, or working with damp wood) and how to use the right tools, (knife, emergency blanket, paracord, etc.) you can do these adventures and have a great time.
Great looking camp. Question: Do you put the reflectix down like a sleeping pad or do you put it in your sleeping bag? I was just curious, I've never used it. Thank you and have a great new year!
Good question. I've used it under my sleeping bag in the past but found that with my body heat, I caused the sleeping bag under me to get a little damp. So what I do is put the Reflectix between the under quilt and the hammock. This leaves a thin air gap and still reflects my body heat back to me. Crucial in very cold conditions.
G'day Glen.
Enjoyed your video.
Merry Christmas & wishing you a happy new year.
All the best

🤠
Same to you Clive. Enjoy your summer!
Crawling out of a warm bed into the cold is the worst. 😂😂 Glad they finally got a new leg for you brother. Great looking outing.. thanks for the video
Oh, you know it! It takes serious self discipline, (or an urgent need to visit a tree) to get me out of my hammock in the morning. :)
Clever use of the emergency blanket as a makeshift Grizz beak style temporary door on the tarp. Looked nice and cozy.
Thanks. I always carry a emergency blanket like that when winter camping. It's a little heavy, but useful in so many applications.
Nice video. Wishing you a Happy Holliday 😊
Thank you! You too!
Great episode man! Love your content 🥾🥾
Thanks! I like your filming style, you clearly have skills well above mine! :)
I would love to do this one day. It looks super cozy and super adventurous at the same time.

@ I just bought myself a kit to help me learn to tie knots. I somehow made it to middle age without learning anything beyond a granny knot! 😆
@@sklegg I learned some in the Navy, forgot them and learned all new ones when I was able to get back into camping. :)
