The direction of a point is never determined relative to a person or object.It is defined as the direction from the first point to the second point.Suppose you load the coordinates of the first point of any line and the coordinates of the second point into the total station.In this case you can determine the right and left side of another point from the first point in the direction of the second point.That is, the left side and the right side of the imaginary line that will be created from the first point to the second point is the location of that object.You just have to remember which point coordinates you entered first..
