I don't think that the Russian people appreciated this performance. They are not used to an American team being so brilliant with their interpretation and downright artistry!!!!
I just rewatched this and saw some people sitting in the first row who didn't even clap when Meryl and Charlie finished skating. Very poor sportsmanship but not surprising after seeing the type people that were in Sochi. Not even courteous which leaves a lot to be desired.

On another clip, one poster said Americans should never skate to Russian composers because they look primitive and stupid. This program is proof positive that Americans appreciate excellence in music and can do justice to that music as well as anyone.

Forgot to say that I thinks it's great that Meryl understands as well as can speak Russian. Too bad she couldn't say something to the audience in Russian either before or after their skate. The crowd would have gone wild.
Rachmaninoff Piano Concerto #2. The concerto has 3 parts. This music is the end of the second movement. The second movement of this concerto is absolutely beautiful and lilting. This part in my opinion absolutely beautiful. You will recognize the 3rd movement. It was made into a modern theme of "Full Moon And Empty Arms". It is a gorgeous piano concerto.
They are the best! They are real champions. It's such a pleasure to watch them. Big TALENTS!
Still one of my favorite dances. It has speed, grace, and tenderness. Beautiful.

Beautiful! It was the perfect program to skate in Russia that is for sure. They do justice to many different styles.
