Pinball Dreams / Pinball Fantasies on the Amiga is probably the closest to an authentic feel a pinball machine has ever got on the home. But theres the Rocky and Bullwinkle pinball game coming out on XBLA in a few weeks!
this was a response to the lame Video Pinball game release several years earlier. Although, my father played the original pinball game for hours. This was a fun game and had a smaller ball that the older game. When U hit all the colors the result was very anti-climantic. but, still good game. Here's a tip on hooking up a 1977-1983 Atari 2600 VCS (and 5200). USE AN OLD TV!! It's a lot easier to hook up to an very older NON- cable ready TV.
Brings back memories! This is the 2nd game that my parents got for my brother and I. I wasn't too big on this game at the time, my brother liked it a lot more then I did. I remember he would get mad at me for playing on Easy Mode, like you were on this video =P
I just found Video Pinball today for 1.99 . I like how you can tilt the machine left and right to edge the ball where you want it, long as your careful not to trip the Tilt and end your ball. I wonder if Midnight Magic does the same? The MM table certainly seems more like a pinball table, while VP is more like a strange boxy Atari table hehe.. still fun for 2 bucks
For some reason I don't like pinball, but I like pinball games. This was one of my favorites, another is Alien Crush & Devil's Crush. Mario Pinball and Metroid Prime Pinball are okay but my absolute favorite pinball was Pinball Quest for the NES! It's like an Action/RPG Pinball game... wicked fun!
I just recently played this game. I find it works best using the keyboard -- The pgdn arrow and spacebar keys to fire ball into play and then the left and right arrow keys to control the flippers. One of my favorite PC pinball games is Crazy Chicken Pinball, which has 5 different tables.
What do you mean? He is doing 1 flipper at a time. You want both the left side and the right side to be individual just like a real table. Do you mean you wish the top flippers didnt move with the bottom? Because no table in the world works like that. The top left and bottom left are always the same button., and vice versa
I had the old Video Pinball for the 2600 when I was a kid and I found a glitch that allowed me to bounce the ball up and down through the multiplier thing at the top and score unlimited points. The only thing missing was a multiball... There was a game for the old Amiga 500 called "Pinball Dreams" that was probably the most accurate pinball sim that I ever played. I think you can download most of the specs for all the real pinball machines on emulators now and recreate them on your computer.
Yay for the arcades! (First comment from a female fan)... I recall you and Dave mentioned in another review that you believe you don't have any female fans... Well, you do! xD
Hey you should try Pinball Hall of Fame The Williams collection for the Wii. It's by far the best video game translation of classic pinball tables that I've ever played. It's a lot of fun and extremely addictive. Plus it's a steal at only 20 bucks...
hehe yeah this was one of the first (if not the first) games I got for the Atari 2600 way back all those years when it came out. Well my older brother actually bought this system and I guess he really wanted to get this game. I like pinball enough (and I still have this game with all the other old 2600 games) but it wasn't that great, though I guess it wasn't all that bad either.
Theres some exelent ps2/3 pinball games with accurate machine recreations. I think they should be the best virtually. Probably have them on 360 and wii too.
Haha well I agree with what you have to say about pinball. And I do have this game in my Atari collection. But it is my firm opinion that this game blows! Even for its time.
This whole review seemed sad the name your lines how you were talking this all seemed sad and I understand I have yet to play a real machine and what makes it worst is that I grew up in Pooler Near Savannah less then a hour away with Lovezola's Pizza and went in there to eat every time and they had a Elvis Pinball Game and I never got to play it at all
Man I played this alot , great sound effects and good gameplay . I still have it will play again
Thanks for the memories, algorithm.
Now I want to listen to Chicago.
I played this when I was 8. I loved it.
Still have and play this game
Had it as a kid, recently rebought for my 2600 plus, still a great time

In video game pinball defence, DS pinball games are a blessing. The perfect chillout game.
we got a pinball machine for Christmas 2000 (or '01, i'm not to sure), and it's the greatest thing ever.

Does hard mode make the ball fall faster?
I picked up this game yesterday played it, and was very impressed. A deal at $2!

My grandparents have a pinball machine in their basement. Man, I loved to play on that thing!
Try Williams Pinball for the Wii - the physics are fantastic. :)
so does the music you play in most of your reviews reflect your personal taste in music? i do enjoy the music you play in these videos. ^^

i LOVE this game, the phisics were great for the time, i do admit that it blows not being able to use 1 flipper at a time....
The phisics and autocorrect were great.

How many pinball games were released for the NES?
I only know of one
There was a couple by Rare that I like.. and some weird “adventure” one that can be kinda fun.. probably more
Eu tenho esse jogo a fita conservada

best pinball game on the 2600
Agreed on the pin ball machine thing.
I had this on the Apple 2 where it's known as David's Midnight Magic.
try pinball hall of fame the williams collection for the wii its very fun and realistic

He didn't remember or wasn't exposed to Pro Pinall The Web yet, which is excellent.
You all need to check out REDKLOK. He did better at this game. I LPed it on my gaming channel too.

Played this game to death.
Pinball lives long, at the bowling alleys!
I Agree! XD The best pinball game and the first I think
Back when Mark knew how to review stuff that didn’t suck.
@Cherabreena I second that notion :) All female with real curves (no wood panelling though ... sorry)!
Love and respect from Canada :)
Oh shit MAYHEM is BACK!
sonic spinball is pretty decent attempt at pinball on a video game console
video game wise, the Epic pinball games on the PC are the best.
I prefer video pinball but both are great
Thomas Crew No offence, but can I ask why?
Not the greatest but I was always impressed with Microsoft Windows Pinball.
You want to play arcade games now, you gotta go to the movie theater.
You sound depressed in this review.
This game's title is moderately suggestive...how disturbing.
hmmm someone saw the ball? XD
I dont
You may need glasses.

Looks like a robot, don't it?
