23 year old here, as someone who grew up with modern social media i never really post on insta anymore. i think a lot of us are just tired of it and are entirely disillusioned at this point. we’re tired of putting up this fake facade and wasting energy on maintaining it for no real reason. also, personally, i’m not in a good mental position so why am i gonna keep posting and pretend like i’m perfect, it doesn’t benefit me or others. i mostly just use social media to communicate at this point, and occasionally check in on the friends who do still post
Asking a childless person to chip in for a babysitter when you go out with your friend group is like asking the person who walked to the restaurant to still split the uber bill. Doesn't apply lol.
You two HAVE to go to Build-A-Bear and document it! It's wild. I've only been once, and it was as an adult to get a bear wearing scrubs for a friend who was graduating from veterinary school. You pick out the clothes the bear wear, any accessories it has, and you watch it get stuffed....but they also make you do a heart ceremony. They put a heart inside the bear, and there's a whole process that goes into it. I need to see you experience it!

As a person who studied horses (equine management course) horses do NEED to have their hooves trimmed. In nature horses wear their hooves naturally but domesticated horses can have overgrown hooves that prevent them from Walking, or even deform their joints. Hooves are one of the most important "parts" of the horse. They can even die from laminitis if people don't clean and take care of the hooves

Snapchat is SO dumb for trying to call themselves not social media, however, I do kind of get it haha! I don’t follow celebrities or businesses on there, it’s just my actual friends and an easy way to send out a thought or experience to people I actually know (but it’s still social media)! Asking a child free friend to help pay for a baby sitter is so wild, I’d be looking for new friends immediately! I grew up with horses. There are jobs called farriers who's job it is to manage horses hooves and trim and put on their shoes. If horses are neglected they're hooves can grow too long and get laminitis etc. seems gross but beneficial
I was maybe 10 when I got a build a bear and at the end of the process (you’re right that you only pick out that the skin of the bear that you stuff) they make you kiss a tiny heart that they put inside them. I was so afraid a friend would walk by and see me promising to love a stuffed bear with a fake head inside 😭

I would never ask my friends to paid for my child care unless I couldn't afford to go out but I'd ask before not just expect them too. The friends are the assholes.
About the tax for children (as expected) - you might not be paying for your own, but you are for your cousins, nieces and basically the WELL EDUCATED future of your country ;)
Trust me the $2000 tax deduction is not changing the playing field. Childcare is at best $1400 a month and a babysitter is like $25 an hour. So even with wedding and baby shower gifts you are coming out WELL ahead of your friends and family. Also like when are a bunch of TH-camrs going to leave CA and create a new entertainment industry heavy town in the US? Cost of living in CA and time spent in traffic is just crazy pants.
