    It looks like if you sign up for the monthly plan, the glucose meter kit is free, which is great cuz i was about to buy it but this works out even better! It makes sense, good sales strategy.

    Thanks for sharing the information. I use the Ambrosia Blucon with Libre, It helps me to get constant readings on my Apple Watch and iPhone, the alarms help me at night. It is a much more reliable and accurate cgm with a low cost. I loved!

      I have Libre and Blucon cgm, both are working wonderful and I always track glucose on the phone.

    Great review One Drop should hire you to do instructional videos showing how to use their meter for their web. I got answers to questions I had been looking for from your review.

    Hey, nice review! The only thing I'd wanna ask: i'm indecisive about buying One Drop full subscription, partly cause i live in russia, and sadly, they don't ship to my region... but there is always a way to solve such an issue, so..nevermind. The question I have is what does this mean "THE LIMITLESS STRIPS". I mean, how do u get 'em? Do you recieve it every month? Or u just have a subscription and have all the q.ty u need in one piece shipping at a time once a year?
    Btw I think that 40 dollars per month is quite a bargain for the testrips supply stoc.

    Nice video, I am using Freestyle Libre US 14days with Ambrosia Blucon over 8 months now, it converts Libre sensor into a full CGM and you will be able to see glucose readings every 5 minutes on phone and watch without scanning the Libre sensor. Now I don't need to scan the Libre sensor and gets reading every 5 minutes on my iPhone

    How is this different from the CVS Health Advanced Bluetooth Glucose Meter? $0.20 per strip for the CVS brand seems like a better deal than $0.50 per strip for these.

      My drug store is sending me a free meter to try. But: Strips Subscription plans seem silly here in Canada, where provincial/private insurances pay for the strips. I do not see how this meter is better that my Contour One. They have all the same software features, minus the chrome. I don't think I am target market.

    Nice review. I'm Diabetic and this sounds great. Do you know what insurance they accept? Thanks 😀

    • @AndrewOHara
      @AndrewOHara  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't think they go through insurance. You pay like.. $35 bucks a month? Without insurance for unlimited test strips, 24/7 expert coaching, and support. So.. pretty darn good for not using insurance.

    • @steveallen8281
      @steveallen8281 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's up to the insurance company, not One Drop. I'm pretty sure the answer is zero. But this was intended to help people without insurance. Super reasonable price for strips. They actually cost me less than my copay on the ones that my insurance does "cover".

    Wow, this is amazing! Too bad I don't live in the US, so having the strips forwarded to me is cost prohibitive.

    Wonder if it is covered by any health insurance?

    • @steveallen8281
      @steveallen8281 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't think so. Most have a relationship with a more established company. However, for me, the strip subscriptions without insurance are cheaper than my Accu-chek costs with insurance. The meter is only $70.

    The App looks slick on the Apple system but I am an Android user. I would love to see the App actually work on an Android. Also there is nothing about how accurate the meter readings are. My insurance currently is forcing me to use a meter that meets FDA standards but Consumer Reports does not recommend because of consistancy and accuracy (actually lack thereof) issues.

    • @AndrewOHara
      @AndrewOHara  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      When Ive compared to my OneTouch, it seems very accurate, and it is FDA approved and meets their standards, so it should meet any of that criteria. Android support should be out soon if it is out yet.

    • @TheDeepFatFriar
      @TheDeepFatFriar 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      One Touch is not the comparison I would hope for.
      I would love to see accuracy testing results of the One Drop meter by Consumer Reports or another independent labratory. I know that all
      One Touch meters (which includes what you used for comparison) failed to get a recomendation due to accuracy concerns (or the lack thereof) in the latest Consumer Reports review of BG meters
      One touch is the brand that my insurance forced to to start using and when I compared it to the Contour Next (#3 on Consumer Reports top 10 list of BG meters) that I had been using with great results, the One Touch was always much higher (25 to 50 points every test). In the two months since I was forced to switch I have had two instances where I was experiencing hypo symptoms to a level I could barely function but the One Touch meter gave me a reading of 90+. I have no confidence in the One Touch meter as a basis for calculating exact correction doses for fast acting insulin to give me tight BG control and calculating insulin doses IS THE ONLY REASON I TEST.

    • @AndrewOHara
      @AndrewOHara  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thats alarming you were receiving such drastic differences in those readings. Ive never experienced such discrepancies. Im sure CR will have a review up eventually, but OneDrop is just so new.

      I have had the app since October 2016 when I found out it was first released for Android and am diligent to update it frequently but there are many KEY FEATURES that are in the iOS version that are still missing from the Android version. Missing features include the ability to create/print/send a report to a member of your healthcare team or any other sharing of your logbook information short of handing them the phone during your visit and have them scroll through the screens. If you can't get the data back out it doesn't do that much good to put it in. I was promised quick updates but it has been 6 months already and I am still waiting.
