I thought I was the only one who had a makeup wish list on their phone. I literally thought I was crazy for having a list of makeup I wanted to buy lol
TH-cam recommended this video and I am so glad they did! I miss these old school videos so much and it’s nice to take a step back in time, even for just a moment.
YSL and Loreal are owed by the same company and the YSL glossy stains and the Loreal gloss are supposedly the same product, just packaged for the separate brands :)
+Nilda Simon estee lauder is the mother company of seriously so many companies. such as lancome, clinique, arden, origins. and those companies separately own other companies! its crazy. But yea, loreal is pretty much the generic brand of lancome.
+Vicki Jennings you're right in saying that Estee Lauder owns a plethora of cosmetics companies, but Estee Lauder doesn't own Lancome. L'Oreal does, and L'Oreal is not owned by Estee Lauder. they're their own company.
Great dupes! What I love is that some of these dupes are cruelty-free/vegan (like Milani, elf, Sonia Kashuk) while the high end isn't! This video is awesome proof that you can be cf on a budget (or if you just don't want to spend all your money on makeup :))!
I'm very picky about my subscriptions and THIS video made me subscribe...excellent...loved it..thanks (you weren't too goofy..seemed you were just being yourself and that's always a good thing)
+Jessica Braun | JAMbeauty89 Thank you for this video!! Is there a dupe for the Too Faced Hot Chocolate Marzipan eye shadow??? I've hit pan and am suffering from withdrawals?!?! Yikes!
+Mika Rose she means she thought the drugstore side is on the left while the high end is on the right when actually its actually- drugstore (right) & high end (left) 😊
I thought the left (drugstore side) looked bright, soft and flawless, while the high end side looked kind of splotchy. Needless to say, I guessed wrong! Great video.
I love that you are willing to spend the money and do the research on these dupes for me - your efforts are very much appreciated and I do value your opinion on them, so thanks for sharing!
Have they changed Rimmel's Airy Fairy? It looks beautiful on here but on my lips it is much lighter, like a nude that doesn't quite work. I need to check out what is on the store shelves to see if it really has changed or if my lip pigmentation is
+Karen Johnston Yes! I have an Airy Fairy from a couple years ago and it looks awful on me-- way too light. My lips are pretty pigmented. I always strive for that perfect pinky peachy nude lip, but my berry color shows through.
Does anyone know of a dupe for Benefit Dallas? It doesn't have to be cheaper - I just hate that it's not cruelty free. I can't find a good dupe anywhere.
Bare Minerals 'The Close Call' blush is a pretty similar dupe, and cruelty free :) If you ever need dupes try www.temptalia.com/makeup-dupe-list , there are so many products on there!
Also follow @dupethat on Instagram they literally have dupes for everything. But maybe the Milano rose blushes or too faced & urban decay might have something similar to its mauve tone
I totally thought that the other side was the cheap dupes side because of the blush being so perfect on the right side of your face and the other side looking a teeny bit chalky.. love your videos, you're the only beauty girl that I am constantly checking with for new videos!!
Hey Jessica! I was wondering if you could please do your skincare routine for us. I'm looking for new products and I really have enjoyed a lot of the makeup you have recommended. I was curious to see what you use! (:
I love these videos. I'm a mother of two and even just the drug store makeup breaks the bank now-a-days. I love seeing what is similiar to the high end things I dream of buying. that's why I subscribed to your channel, I love that you don't put down drugstore items.
Me too! I buy nude or nude-pink lip color and they look freaking coral or peach on me! It drives me crazy because I can't ever tell when I order or swatch a lip color.
+Ilka Palmer I bought the LA girl matte gloss in Dreamy that A LOT of people have been loving... it looks SO orange on me! on others it is the perfect everyday pinky nude but not on me :(
I find it funny that I always thought you were saying the little 'EYE' in the right corner and I kept looking for an eye, and all this time you were refering to the 'i' lol, I feel so dumb right now xD
I have a couple of the L’oreal Colour Riche Extraordinaire and love them. The applicator isn't great, but the color and consistency are awesome. I find that even after the glossy part wears off, they leave a nice stain.
Jess I love your goofy personality. Your enthusiasm is awesome and inspiring to me. Btw, I love your mock neck quarter-zip top from VS! VS is one of my favorite brands! Thank you for being so thorough with your dupe info and tips. I really appreciate it and look forward to seeing you regularly.
Thank you +Jessica Braun | JAMbeauty89 for existing. Thank you for being you. Thank you for being real and goofy and a trustworthy source of makeup info. I always love watching you. Muah!
The Too Faced to Rimmel dupe and the Nars to Revlon dupe are both going Cruelty free to tested on animals brands, unfortunately. The ELF & Milani dupes are exciting and cruelty free. I so wish they were all cruelty free. There's just no reason for animals to suffer for makeup...so very sad. "The greatest ethical test we're ever going to face is the treatment of those at our mercy." (Lyn White)
What do they actually do to animals to make it cruelty? and what animals do brands usually test on? (Sorry if that sounded rude, but i actually don't know)
Julia Pragit Hi Julia, it's not rude at all, and I think most people don't know and that's why so many companies get away with it. let me say first that some companies you really (likely) know & love ARE cruelty free: Too faced, Urban decay, nars, IT, Tarte, Becca, anastasia BH and more, plus Wet n Wild, milani, physicians formula, NYX to name a few high end and drug store brands. I don't like saying on here what is don't to the animals because it is very uncomfortable to some and they get very offended by being made uncomfortable. Briefly, animals (mainly rabbits and dogs) live in cages till testing time when they are put in stocks (like the old time criminal stocks where head and hands are held in place so the person, or animal in this case, can't really move or get away) so that they cannot flinch or move away from something hurting them. Chemicals are put into their eyes, noses, mouths, they are force fed and parts of boys are shaved and chemicals applied. They blister, bleed, die, are blinded, scream....believe me, I am censoring! In minor cases dogs, mostly beagles as they are a hardy breed, have special made masks put over their snouts where they must breathe in chemicals that they cannot get away from or get a fresh breath. These are BY FAR NOT the worst cases! AND there are companies testing in ways that don't require any animals suffering at all, AND its not too expensive! Or wet n wild would not be the least expensive cosmetics! You can go to beautywithoutbunnies.com; beaglefreedomproject.com and logicalharmony.com for more information. Peta.com has lists of companies that test and those committed to not testing (they are a very reliable source of information (peta, I mean) but they advocate the same mercy for roaches and spiders and I can't make myself go that far. Medical testing is different - don't on mice and rats and there's no way around that. but for cosmetics - to make these poor animals suffer? It's unconscionable and simply cruel. Im sorry my answer was long. I could've been shorter and then more graphic. I appreciate your asking. No cosmetics will look the same to you now that you know. - peace to you and God bless!
Love your videos. You are my favorite you tuber to watch- especially your travel vlogs with Tyler. It feels like I'm there with u guys. You are awesome!!
I agree about the laura mercier I bought it with the notion of it being like aaaaahhhh the clouds will part and the heavens are gonna shine through...but honestly it was more like a ting ray shining through a rain cloud
Thank you for your videos. I love them all. I honestly think the drugstore side has a softer look. I thought it was the high end because of the softness. Thank you again for all you do..
I really appreciate you mentioning formula dupes. With the vast majority of colors, finding a similar shade isn't hard. It's the formula I always wonder about!
I'm cracking up that this video was just recommended to me. Been subbed to Jess since way before this and it's funny to see how much she really hasn't changed! ❤️
You totally fooled me on which side was high end and which was dupes! I had guessed the other way around! Great job finding dupes that I haven't seen on youtube yet!
I just found your channel, and I foresee a chain watching session coming. Love your personality and honesty! And you're so pretty! Off to watch the rest of your videos...
Well I totally got that WRONG! OMGosh the dupe side is absolutely flawless, soft and so natural and pretty! Of course, both are beautiful but Youve got me over here making my dupe list of must haves on my phone girl! XO!
I guessed the correct side!! Mostly because I thought the cheek pigments showed up better. It looks like the powder on the drugstore side made the skin look smoother, but I contributed that to how lighting was placed on that side.
I needed this video because I've been watching all those best of 2015 videos and they're 90% high end products that I will never buy. I'm definitely adding some of these to my phone list!
I haven't seen many of your dupe videos but this one was excellent. There are a ton of products I want to go out and try now. Thanks for the recommendations!
Love this dupe video. Options are great, it isn't always about the money but I love knowing alternatives. I'm doing my best to buy cruelty free, so I'd still choose Too-Faced over Rimmel, for example. Anything I can buy that's cheap AND cruelty free makes my day.
Hi Jess! Try TheBalms liquid lipsticks. Comfortable and non-drying. I've also done well with the Elf under eye setting powder. Its kept me from investing in the high end one.
Jessica- Just found your channel recently and I am really enjoying your videos...thank you! What eyeshadow are you wearing in this video? I love all the colors, especially the shimmer on your lid. My cell phone makeup list has grown after this video!
I love the lorrel lip glosses! I got one at the end of summer and I was a little sceptical because it was on clearance at target but I decided to try it out. Now it's one of my favorite lipgloss, and what's great about it is that it's on clearance constantly!
hello there, i'm your new subscriber! this video is helped me a lot to decided which make up i should buy first. i always have list of make up that i want to buy, but end up like i should buy the expensive one first because it is worth to buy. and after watching this video i just realize that makeup swatches is important to compare the expensive one with the cheap one before we buy and it save money. thank youuu
Honestly, my favorite liquid lipstick is The Balm Meet Matt(e) Hughes in Committed. It is the most comfortable liquid lipstick I have ever tried and it is a very nice shade that can work with any skin color. I highly recommend you try it, and it also smells like peppermint.
I personally like how the drugstore side looks better. The blush is softer. I love your dupe videos, with 4 kids it is hard to justify the high end prices on makeup.
You are absolutely gorgeous! I love your videos and trust your opinions on products! I have purchased a lot of the items you suggest on your videos! 😘😘😘😘
I just watched this video recently before I bought my new makeup and I was about to buy the mac highlighter and the liquid lipstick that you reviewed and it saved me money thank you i'm in love with the dupes x :)
Will you do a tutorial on your eye look in this video? It is beautiful!! I love silver eyeshadow, but I shy away from it sometimes because I always end up with a "smokey eye" look. lol. This is a nice change from that.
Have you ever tried the lip gloss from Express? I only have one shard so far, I believe the mauve color. It's so great though! The pigment is good, the smell is delicious, and my lips always feel moisturized when it wears off.
Wow, Jessica! If I had to choose a side I would have said that the right side of your face (which turned out to be drugstore!) looked slightly more seamless. They products you chose were pretty dead on though, which makes guessing more fun 🙂Thank you for all of the comparisons! I love when you can find a formula dupe since you can usually find at least one shad in a line that you enjoy. Such a fun video. Have a blessed day!
I have to des agree with you on the stila and milani liquid lipstick, the milani one dries my lips and stila does not, at all! everything else, I gotta try... thank you
thanks for the video! xoxo love dupes💞 I've found that alot of times the cheaper one will even perform better. I was clueless as to which side was which lol
All these products looked almost identical! Besides, the blush on the expensive side looks a bit too obvious, like it didn't blend very well. Thanks so much for this video!
I already love the Loreal lip color. As for which side is expensive? I almost alway guess, but this time I had it wrong! I thought the right side of your face looked more well blended and that is usually the tell for me.
GREAT video! Made me a new subscriber!! I, too, guessed wrong about which side was which BUT - what is the silvery eye shadow you're wearing? I watched the entire vid waiting for the color.....and it's not even in the down bar!!
Super thorough and detailed video and dupes selection! I could not tell the difference of high end or dupe to be honest. Thanks for helping me save some moola! 🤑😍👍🏽🌼
I really like the NYC loose translucent powder! It's cheap if anyone here can't get SK. I use it with my damp beauty blender to set my under eye concealer. I don't bake, just dab the bb in the powder and pat over the area I really want to set. I pat until it melts into my concealer/foundation. Lasts all day, no creasing, no fading and never, ever cakey looking. Love it!
I thought I was the only one who had a makeup wish list on their phone. I literally thought I was crazy for having a list of makeup I wanted to buy lol
I have one also
I have a list too !! lol
I have one to!! Haha:)
+Heyyitscdog I have one too! lol Not all of us can cash out at Sephora.
guilty, worst part I keep adding to it!
That's exactly what I was thinking when she mentioned those.
+Amanda Hunter I thought it was Lancome and Loreal are the same company. It's good to know that YSL is the same company because I use YSL products.
Amanda Hunter I feel YSL more than any of Loreal other brands is just repackaged Loreal. Really just a scam!
I like the dupe side better, honestly. I guessed wrong and thought that was the high end. impressive
It almost feels like cheaper end stuff blends out to be softer looking, it's so confusing you would think the high end would blend well xD.
+Elizabeth Priest yeah exactly her left side blush on was pigmented, or so i thot, dint blend really well.. but o m g that was the high end side :O
Mathis family I totally agree. I do like the dupe side better. What does that say about me?
Great dupes! What I love is that some of these dupes are cruelty-free/vegan (like Milani, elf, Sonia Kashuk) while the high end isn't! This video is awesome proof that you can be cf on a budget (or if you just don't want to spend all your money on makeup :))!
I'm very picky about my subscriptions and THIS video made me subscribe...excellent...loved it..thanks (you weren't too goofy..seemed you were just being yourself and that's always a good thing)
Yay! Thank you so much!! ❤️❤️❤️
Same!!
+Jessica Braun | JAMbeauty89 me too haha
Me 2
+Jessica Braun | JAMbeauty89 Thank you for this video!! Is there a dupe for the Too Faced Hot Chocolate Marzipan eye shadow??? I've hit pan and am suffering from withdrawals?!?! Yikes!
Many of you have guessed correctly - which side is high end and which side is drugstore! The answer is in the info box above! :)
You're gorgeous. I love your videos sooooo much
I was gonna comment, u totally forgot to mention that😆
+Jessica Braun | JAMbeauty89 Hey, if they can't tell which is which - definitely legit dupes!
I guessed wrong until you showed the lipsticks
i guessed correctly mainly due to the highlight. Mac soft and gentle was just more shimmery and beautiful :)
“and know that I look AWESOME!” Hahaha, didn’t see it coming. You are awesome
I thought the makeup sides were the other way around!!
Same
what u mean?
+Mika Rose she means she thought the drugstore side is on the left while the high end is on the right when actually its actually- drugstore (right) & high end (left) 😊
Yup!!
+littlelemon1012 Me too!
Honestly she’s the purest buetuber ever !! Y’all appreciate her!
You are the only person I trust with dupes 😂
Jessica, your eye look has never been better! Amazing look on you; just lovely!
The whole video I kept thinking "I like her right side better" and it turns out it was the dupe side!
Same lol.
Same I was actually surprised
+lizzy gotstyle and i thot maybe its the better side, it would probably be the high end.. but Omg it was actually the dupe :O
me too!!
The Elf highlighter/blush is one of the best products out there for 3.00, its is amazing the glow that it gives your skin, love it!
Love dupe videos! ♥ Elle PS - Did I miss it or did you tell us which side was which?
she wrote in her description box, she forgot to mention it.
+Mandi Herrera Thank you! I guessed correctly :-)
Scroll down a little in the description is there
+Elle Is For Living you're welcome, good guess!
yeah i thinking the same thing and she didn't say which was which.😕
You can never be too goofy... you're adorable. I love your dupes segments. Really helps out a stay at home mom on a budget. xxoo ~R
I did guess correctly, but the only inclination I had was the pigmentation of blush on the high end side was slightly more evident. 😍
I had thought the side on our left was high-end (the brows are definitely nicer)! Would love to see more of these in the future. Thanks Jess.
Have they changed Rimmel's Airy Fairy? It looks beautiful on here but on my lips it is much lighter, like a nude that doesn't quite work. I need to check out what is on the store shelves to see if it really has changed or if my lip pigmentation is
...that much different than yours.
(Oops. Darn touchscreen!)
Karen Johnston my lips are barely pigmented so colors come across quite different than they do on Jessica's
+Karen Johnston Yes! I have an Airy Fairy from a couple years ago and it looks awful on me-- way too light. My lips are pretty pigmented. I always strive for that perfect pinky peachy nude lip, but my berry color shows through.
BeachyBlonde614 try concealing your lips before putting any lip color on that should help (:
I love these mauve tones and icy blues on you! Gorgeous as always!
It's probably not cruelty free but Covergirl cheekers in Soft Sable is a great dupe. I've tried both and look the same when applied!
Angela Kirk covergirl is definitely not cruelty free!
Yeah figured so. thanks
I totally thought that the other side was the cheap dupes side because of the blush being so perfect on the right side of your face and the other side looking a teeny bit chalky.. love your videos, you're the only beauty girl that I am constantly checking with for new videos!!
Yay I have never been so early :) Love your videos!
Hey Jessica! I was wondering if you could please do your skincare routine for us. I'm looking for new products and I really have enjoyed a lot of the makeup you have recommended. I was curious to see what you use! (:
Very very useful video, thanks !
I love these videos. I'm a mother of two and even just the drug store makeup breaks the bank now-a-days. I love seeing what is similiar to the high end things I dream of buying. that's why I subscribed to your channel, I love that you don't put down drugstore items.
Which side had high end and drugstore?! You can't do this to me Jessica 😂 haha love you anyway!
Right said was the cheaper dupes ( left side when looking on screen) she mentions it in the down bar
To me the drugstore blush looks much better! I thought it was the high end side! That's pretty awesome. Love these videos!
Am I the only one who hates Milani luminoso?? It looks straight up ORANGE on my fair skin, not coral or anything :(
Same. It's not coral at all on me.
Same! I am fair, warm undertone. All coral pulls orange on me...even some "nude" lip colors look more orange/yellow on me than it does on others :(
Me too! I buy nude or nude-pink lip color and they look freaking coral or peach on me! It drives me crazy because I can't ever tell when I order or swatch a lip color.
+Ilka Palmer I bought the LA girl matte gloss in Dreamy that A LOT of people have been loving... it looks SO orange on me! on others it is the perfect everyday pinky nude but not on me :(
+Heyyitscdog Same but I love coralista..
I honestly could not tell the difference. Great video Jess. Looks like there are new products I need to go try.
I find it funny that I always thought you were saying the little 'EYE' in the right corner and I kept looking for an eye, and all this time you were refering to the 'i' lol, I feel so dumb right now xD
Good to know because I thought the same thing!
I have a couple of the L’oreal Colour Riche Extraordinaire and love them. The applicator isn't great, but the color and consistency are awesome. I find that even after the glossy part wears off, they leave a nice stain.
the drugstore side actually looks better :-D
Jess I love your goofy personality. Your enthusiasm is awesome and inspiring to me. Btw, I love your mock neck quarter-zip top from VS! VS is one of my favorite brands! Thank you for being so thorough with your dupe info and tips. I really appreciate it and look forward to seeing you regularly.
you're so cute and remind me of Georgia from gossip girl
Your eye makeup looks so amazing! A little different from your usual look, and I love it!
I think your left cheek is darker but otherwise no difference
Thank you +Jessica Braun | JAMbeauty89 for existing. Thank you for being you. Thank you for being real and goofy and a trustworthy source of makeup info. I always love watching you. Muah!
Honestly the blush dont look the same😂 but I don't care ily💕
I just found you and honestly you are so refreshing, there is something very genuine about you!

Julia Pragit you're most welcome. Again, thank you for caring enough to ask.
Check out www.peta.org and they will tell you in horrific detail what goes on in animal testing labs.
Love your videos. You are my favorite you tuber to watch- especially your travel vlogs with Tyler. It feels like I'm there with u guys. You are awesome!!
Guessed wrong, the drugstore side looks better IMO
Your eye shadow looks amazing!!! It's totally different from what you usually do I love it!
Drugstore one looks better :)
Jessica I know you don't really wear eye looks like that but in all honesty you should! You are totally pulling it off! You look so beautiful!!
You never told us which side was drugstore and which was high end! Suspense!
The left side of the screen is the inexpensive side😮
+Bianca Rose it is on the screen at the end of the video
+Jennifer Ann Fox (Feathers in the Nest) it's not. it's in the description
Karina Soto it's at 10:40. In large white boxes on the side of her face says "this side is drugstore and on the other this side is expensive.
+Jennifer Ann Fox (Feathers in the Nest) Not on my version, watching on a notebook if that makes any difference. It is only in the description box.
Rewatching this and wanted you to know I tried the Sonia Kashuk Brightening Powder because of this video & have even repurchased it! Wonderful!!
I really love how you did half your face high end make up and the other half drugstore make up!! Great idea

Please keep the "dupes" coming, I love it when you say, "Save your money." :)
Omgg I love your eye makeup look in this video! 😍😍😍
Well I totally got that WRONG! OMGosh the dupe side is absolutely flawless, soft and so natural and pretty! Of course, both are beautiful but Youve got me over here making my dupe list of must haves on my phone girl! XO!
I totally got it wrong! those are some amazing dupes! love the silliness in this video! 😀💜
I guessed the correct side!! Mostly because I thought the cheek pigments showed up better. It looks like the powder on the drugstore side made the skin look smoother, but I contributed that to how lighting was placed on that side.

I definitely guessed the other way around, your face looked more luminous and fresh on the drugstore side! Amazing!
Jessica do you have the it cosmetics bye bye pores loose powder? If so,do you think the Sonia kashuk is better?
Thank you, loved your dupes
Fabulous dupes my friend!!! I wear Airy Fairy all the time!! Love it!! 🙌💕
Hi Jess! Try TheBalms liquid lipsticks. Comfortable and non-drying. I've also done well with the Elf under eye setting powder. Its kept me from investing in the high end one.

Loved this video. I got excited when you brought up Patina from Stila. I love that color!!! 💖💖💖
How did I end up back in 2016 from 2022 😅 classic Jess! What a throw back. So nostalgic ❤️
I couldn´t have told the difference. After you told I could probably spot a little difference in the blush, but other than that? I am impressed.
Vlog more!! Seeing your happy little life was so entertaining :) you and Tyler together are so precious :)
I just watched this video recently before I bought my new makeup and I was about to buy the mac highlighter and the liquid lipstick that you reviewed and it saved me money thank you i'm in love with the dupes x :)
You look gorgeous in this video, as always, but I like your new eye makeup look! Thanks for this video.
I guessed correctly! The highlight for me gave it away, it's more shimmery. I actually prefer the elf. Reguardless you look beautiful 💖
I have to des agree with you on the stila and milani liquid lipstick, the milani one dries my lips and stila does not, at all! everything else, I gotta try... thank you
I really needed this video, it hasn't been the best day, but you made the end of the day a good one.
I totally guessed wrong. Super impressive dupes, Jessica!
thanks for the video! xoxo love dupes💞 I've found that alot of times the cheaper one will even perform better.
I love watching your videos, you are so adorable!!! I thought the dupe side(IMO) was the more flawless side!!!
Love your goofiness! Don't ever "simmer down" 😊
Patina is one of my favorite Stila colors! So beautiful. May have to try the Amore Matte Lip Cream now :)
Love it!
