We are excited to present Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen, a renowned interior designer and dedicated philanthropist, as our distinguished speaker for this year's graduation ceremony.
Laurence's journey began with his studies in Fine Art at the Camberwell School of Art and Crafts, where he honed his drawing skills and deepened his understanding of design history. These foundations have been instrumental in shaping his exceptional expertise in interior design.
His illustrious career includes notable television credits, such as presenting the BBC and Channel 4 series 'Changing Rooms' and the BBC One documentary 'In Search of England’s Green and Pleasant Land.' These appearances have made him a household name and showcased his unique approach to design.
Beyond his professional achievements, Laurence is deeply committed to philanthropy. Along with his wife, he serves as an ambassador for CARE International UK and actively supports children’s cancer charity CLIC Sargent and Shooting Star Children’s Hospice. His role as a patron of the children's charity MERU, co-founded by his father, highlights his dedication to making a meaningful impact in the lives of others.
The University is proud to award Laurence Llewellyn-Bowen an Honorary Doctorate of Arts. This honorary recognises not only his remarkable achievements in design and philanthropy but also his invaluable support and inspiration to our Fashion and Interior Design students.
