That's Joe Hickerson, former Archivist of the Archive of Folk Song at the American Folklife Center at the Library of Congress-- singing the song at the beginning from Folk Legacy recording Drive Dull Care Away vol II. What a beautiful intro and a great rendition of this song.

Love the song, the various layers of the instruments building up on top of one another adding to another, non-linear dimension. It all just echoes in my mind. This would make a perfect theme song for a movie.
