Hello, I am a 16 year old girl who came across this video on my TH-cam recommendations and I fell it love with it within my first watch. The feeling I got when watching this video was indescribable. It was so magical, powerful, and moving that it brought me to tears. I may not know much about this man, or this band, but I realize why so many people respect them and still keep coming back to this timeless masterpiece. I could never find something this moving in music today, and it saddens me. This right here, is real music. These people had a deep passion and love for music, and it clearly shows. Artists today don’t care about music. They only care about the fame.
WoW! You wrote it’s indescribable: I disagree on that. You described it perfectly. It gave me goosebumps. And you absolutely right!” Thank you for that.
You are a wonderfully expressive and astute writer. You write with a pleasant blend of both emotion and acumen. It is a gift that I hope that you culture as it wouldn't surprise me to learn that you have a lot to say. If EWF is not a national treasure then I do not know what might be. This music is from a magical time, musically, socially, culturally. The men, the music, the words, the magic. The examples these men set contributed to the personal growth of a generation of young people. We are getting on in years now, but....If you listen to the music intently you can feel the strength of a previous generation lifting you to new horizons just as we did with one another at the time. Try it. The energy is there, I promise.
It's wonderful that someone of this generation appreciates the music of the 70s, 80s. Those years I had back then were the happiest I had ... there is too much hate now .... we need music and joy! After hearing your words, there is still hope yet for the next generation.
Maurice White is remembered now, this moment, as the greatest leader of the greatest band ever. Yes, the Stones. Yes, the Who. Yes, the Beatles. Yes, the Eagles. Yes, Boston. Yes, Coldplay. Yes, U2. But White tops them all. Transforming an entire generation of music and musicians. Here's to a hero. Maurice White. Unforgettable. Forever, the best.

That is the real music we all loved so much. Our younger people have yet to be surprised that WE OLD FOLKS actually did good. I know it's still great. My tears won't let me forget CLASS.
My mom had this album among many. I would ask her to play this song for me when I was a little girl . This is an still is one of my favorite songs. This live version is the 🍒 on top!!! I'm a gen x, so I can truly appreciate 70s and 80s music. All music 🎶!!
At 63 I’m still listening to my old school music and still loving it this helped me get over my first broken heart I played it I’m sure a million times and will always listen to EWF RIP Maurice White miss you😢
No doubt! It's not a band past or present that can touch these guys! I saw them last year in Atlantic city and they still sound as awesome! Unbelievable! I wanted to quit my job and just follow them around the world to hear their concerts!
"Something happened along the way. Yesterday is all we had................." I had the pleasure of seeing EWF in concert in the late 80s. It was one of the best concerts I have ever experienced. Times, culture, and music 🎶 were magical back in that era. I truly missed those days but do not think too much about it.
Maurice had one of the most of the unique voices in music - deep, rich and silky smooth. The Band could sing an elementary school’s attendance list and we all would just tap our feet or sway to whatever they’d play. That’s a gift 🎁.
No band in the world comes close to Earth, Wind & Fire. Listen to the masterful voice of Maurice White, who also drummed and wrote almost all the arrangements.....GENIUS! Brother Verdine on bass & Philip Bailey on vocals, are just a few of the musicians who form this powerhouse of talent. They will always be the best of the best of the best! EWF 4EVER!
I am so grateful for being old enough to know Earth Wind and Fire and appreciate the absolutely legendary musicianship. However I am also extremely sad that I never got to see them live. This is probably my favorite song of all time, always brings both a smile and a tear to my face.
I was very fortunate to be not only in Las Vegas, with my mom and bff, we attended their performance, and truly amazing concert. So sad today's music with some exceptions does not even come close to the greatest of the music that existed When I was growing up. I am 77 yrs now and I miss that music. Great song writers, amazing singers . It was pure magic.
To this day, Maurice and Earth, Wind & Fire produced timeless music. It is as good today as ever. May he RIP. May the band play on. They made a huge part of me.
who is listening in October 2021? This is one of the best harmonizing groups of all time. When you have been through heartbreak and you hear a song like this it really brings you back...
I'd be honored if some EWF fans would give a listen to my acoustic piano & vocal performance of SEPTEMBER on my YT channel in tribute to the Mighty Maurice White. Live acoustic with no autotune or digital editing. Thanks and RESPECT to the legends.
Maurice White and EWF. Pure class and true entertainers. I'm so glad I grew up in seventies. It put me decades ahead of people only now hearing such. Perfection.
Gabriel - you may be young, but you have an 'old' soul. Your love for EWF, and the time in which it was produced(1970s), may well be a sign that you actually lived back then, but as another person. Of course, most people in our part of the world don't believe in reincarnation, but there are more who do everywhere else on the planet.
Nostalgia fills the air whenever this song is played. An absolute classic that just gets better with time, it's an amazing song on so many levels; the rich harmony of musical instrumentations and choruses and the voice of Maurice White.
This song so powerful that it brings tears to my eyes everytime I listen to it #Memories😢😢😢Thanks Earth Wind and Fire for this . Also thanks TH-cam Was here 6/24/23
Not to detract from the greatness of personalities like Maurice White, Philip Bailey, and Gary Bias - but one of the major reasons for the phenomenal and enduring success of this band is that they’ve always had the Lord backing them!
My favorite band/group of all times.
Miss the original members

우린 우리가 어리단 걸 알고 있었고
and our eyes were alive
서로의 눈은 살아있었지
Deep inside we knew our love was true
그 깊은 곳에 서로의 사랑이 진실하단 걸 알았어
For awhile we paid no mind to the past
잠시동안 우린 과거는 잊어버렸지
we knew love would last
사랑이 영원할거란걸 알았고
Ev'ry night somethin' right
매일밤, 어떤 존재가
would invite us to begin the dance
우리를 춤추게 만들었어
Somethin' happened along the way
그러다가 어떤 일이 생긴 거야
what used to be happy was sad
행복은 슬픔으로 바뀌었지
Somethin' happened along the way
그러다가 어떤 일이 생긴 거야
and yesterday was all we had
우리에게 남은건 지난날 뿐이었어
And oh after the love has gone
그리고 오, 사랑이 떠난 후에도
how could you lead me on
너는 계속 날 잡아끌어
and not let me stay around
가만히 있지 못하게해
Oh oh oh after the love has gone
오 오 오 사랑이 떠난 후에도
what used to be right is wrong
옳은 것이 틀린 것이 되었어
Can love that's lost be found
잃어버린 사랑을 다시 찾을 수 있을까
For awhile to love each other with all
잠시동안 서로를 사랑하는 것은
we would ever need
우리에게 필요한 전부였어
Love was strong for so long
사랑은 오랫동안 강했는데
never knew that what was
무엇이 잘못된건지 아직도
wrong oh baby wasn't right
몰라, 오 베이비, 이건 옳지 않아
We tried to find what we had
우린 예전에 가졌던 걸 찾으려 했지만
till sadness was all we shared
결국 슬픔만 나누게 되었고
We were scared this affair would lead our love into
이 관계가 어디로 우리를 이끌지 두려워하기만 했어
Somethin' happened along the way
그러다가 어떤 일이 생긴 거야
and yesterday was all we had
우리에게 남은건 지난날 뿐이었어

You are missed Maurice! The heart of EWF
What a great band. Phillip Bailey's high vocals give me chills. So glad I grew up in the 70's.
Me 2 The best era 2 grow up in
I will forever love this band. Maurice White's voice soothes my soul. RIP Maurice.
David Foster created one of the best song of all time when he wrote this.
Foster wrote it with Jay Graydon and Bill Champlin.
Brings tears to my eyes...so beautiful. My favorite band of all time
Y E S Mine Too !
You never lied! They sound almost too good to be true!
Yes I am here 2022
Earth Wind and Fire is indeed a GEM💎 and will forever be my #1 favorite band of all time...🤗
Listening song, I get so emotional, how come?
It always amazed me, just how amazing Maurice White's live singing was ! One of the best live vocalists of all time.
Doesn't his voice transport you to better times?
God bless you, Maurice.
Heaven got a new angel when our sweet Lord called you to Glory!
🌼🌼🌼🌼
Totally agree♥️
Indeed and I live through it all the medicine forever in our heart
He is and was glory
That is the real music we all loved so much. Our younger people have yet to be surprised that WE OLD FOLKS actually did good.
I know it's still great. My tears won't let me forget CLASS.
My mom had this album among many. I would ask her to play this song for me when I was a little girl . This is an still is one of my favorite songs. This live version is the 🍒 on top!!! I'm a gen x, so I can truly appreciate 70s and 80s music. All music 🎶!!
What a legacy of music this band has produced.
Timeless classic.
At 63 I’m still listening to my old school music and still loving it this helped me get over my first broken heart I played it I’m sure a million times and will always listen to EWF RIP Maurice White miss you😢
I’m 67 and this is my favorite ever
If time travel exists I would definitely go back to the 70’s and 80’s and stay there!
neva go away.
Everyone and Their Mothers know Earth Wind and Fire. You are now a Soulful youngster on the RIGHT PAGE with MUSIC
My mom favorite group ever. She's now in heaven. Anytime I hear EW&F I shed a tear thinking about her
Bless ♥️
No need for tears enjoy the memories
❤❤❤
I wish I could go back to the 70s, I am 55 now…I hate the world we’ve been living in for 30 years …
This blows away tons of other top bands' live concerts. The clarity and tightness of the ensemble is incredible.
No doubt! It's not a band past or present that can touch these guys! I saw them last year in Atlantic city and they still sound as awesome! Unbelievable! I wanted to quit my job and just follow them around the world to hear their concerts!
Best live production I have ever seen and heard, even the recording
@@rodneystumphf9296 Performed and recorded in Japan
When an old song can make you feel young. That's POWER!
Same that again, Marie!
VERY WELL SAID...
Marcella blue moon
I'm just 20 but it makes me feel like an old soul. What a beautifull song !
Fvck.. I feel old 😭
"Something happened along the way.
Maurice was the vocalist. He is truly missed. ❤❤❤
EWF 4EVER!
I saw them in Vegas at Caesars Palace concert underneath the stars." In like 1987-88 Loved it.
Happy Birthday Maurice White! So incredible. Can’t get enough of this performance!
Every time I watch EWF, I find more "Reasons" why Maurice White was the inspiration and spiritual leader of this great band. RIP Maurice.
I am so grateful for being old enough to know Earth Wind and Fire and appreciate the absolutely legendary musicianship. However I am also extremely sad that I never got to see them live. This is probably my favorite song of all time, always brings both a smile and a tear to my face.
Listening to EW&F is the key to uniting ppl and removing hatred in this world. It mellows you out and makes you feel good!
I was very fortunate to be not only in Las Vegas, with my mom and bff, we attended their performance, and
truly amazing concert. So sad today's music with some exceptions does not even come close to the greatest of the music that existed
When I was growing up. I am
77 yrs now and I
miss that music.
Great song writers, amazing
singers . It was pure magic.
They killed this live! Amazing performance. That was as good as the studio version.
No man, it's even better!!
@@domc9026 You're right. I read your comment and came back to listen again and I have to agree with you. This performance is really special.
De acuerdo contigo.
To this day, Maurice and Earth, Wind & Fire produced timeless music. It is as good today as ever. May he RIP. May the band play on. They made a huge part of me.
This is food for the soul, brothers and sisters. Earth WInd and Fire moves you away from the darkness, towards the light - magical stuff.
You words are also beautiful
Every one of these band members was so damn talented! There are at least four exceptional lead vocalists in this band. Amazing....!
Maurice White, your light shining down on us during these troubled times, what a legacy you've left. Thank you...
who is listening in October 2021? This is one of the best harmonizing groups of all time. When you have been through heartbreak and you hear a song like this it really brings you back...
I’m here in Oct 21 too. Bless it✨✨utter magic!
I am... October 2021 and still listening to this.
I love Earth wind and fire forever (23 oct 21)
I am listening. I just saw E,W &F last Thursday night ( 10-21-21). Amazing show, they sounded so good ! Sure miss Maurice . RIP
Me
Classic HANDS DOWN!!! Still sounds like Gold in 2019!!!
Solid Gold, yeah!! Hehe
Sounds better. 2019 can't compare to Earth Wind and Fire.
Amen. Grant.
I'd be honored if some EWF fans would give a listen to my acoustic piano & vocal performance of SEPTEMBER on my YT channel in tribute to the Mighty Maurice White. Live acoustic with no autotune or digital editing. Thanks and RESPECT to the legends.
it is gold!!!
Maurice White and EWF. Pure class and true entertainers. I'm so glad I grew up in seventies. It put me decades ahead of people only now hearing such. Perfection.
Maurice White & Philip Baily voices compliment each other’s
Beges
Like Jordan and pippin
What a team getto wasn't going on stop the madness
I love this band, my family calls me old just for listening to it (I'm 19 years old), the rhythm, the voices, everything is so perfect.
You aren’t old! You have a discerning spirit and sense of music! 😉
You are just a reincarnation of a beautiful soul..
You have awesome taste in music 😊😊😊way back early 80s i was 10 and listening and grooving to their sings
Same goes for me! That's what makes you special compared to others haha
I'll never be the same after the sax solo. OMG! Wow!!
Didnt know Shaq plays the sax
死ぬほど好きな曲。
人生でこの曲に出会えて幸せです🥰
"For a while," the hairs on my neck raise, only the great, late Maurice could sing that to perfection
By far the BEST version of this song that I have ever heard. Maurice was simply amazing.
This song is a masterpiece!!
Yeah, it is, indeed.
EWF, CHICAGO Coldplay, The Doors Simply Red & U2, .. Are who does it for me..
@@tellyhennessey5422 please don't bring Coldplay in the same sentence with these legends.
Kevz Listening December 2024 music that doesn’t exist anymore
Nostalgia fills the air whenever this song is played. An absolute classic that just gets better with time, it's an amazing song on so many levels; the rich harmony of musical instrumentations and choruses and the voice of Maurice White.
👏👏👏👏✌💞💕💕💖💖💝💝
Beautiful!!! ❤💓💗

I wish I could go back to the 70s …I hate the world we’ve been living in for 30 years …
Mr. Maurice White had a prodigious amount of talent. We’re so blessed to have all the music he left us to have good times together. Thank you sir.
the chord progression is on another level
Man Maurice White , Al Jarreau. Heaven has all the great music
Eart Wind and Fire set the bar so high that they changed music forever!
I agree.
Not to detract from the greatness of personalities like Maurice White, Philip Bailey, and Gary Bias - but one of the major reasons for the phenomenal and enduring success of this band is that they’ve always had the Lord backing them!
