@@suspiciouschicken ,if Simon Riley was a real person, he'd probably be taking a lot of meds daily and sure as hell nobody would let him back in the field. But this is a power fantasy game, so the Rule of Cool applies. I prefer to suspend my disbelief and see him as a compelling character within the workframe of the Modern Warfare universe. Within those bounds, he is not an edge lord, but a man who's psyche has been crushed into smithereens and who made the best out of his impossible circumstances. He has a penchant for theatrics - so what? That mask of his works well as an intimidation tactic on a battlefield. If anything, I'm moved by how all his army bros just let him be his quirky self - no prying, no jokes, nothing. Soap's intrusion during the Alone mission came from a place of genuine care and Ghost recognized that. As long as he has his mask on, he's the most level headed, efficent, logical creature one can imagine. And he's also a good friend, even if reluctant to step into that role.
Alejandro has such warmth to his character. He is hotheaded and gets furious easily, but at the same time you can just tell that if he's gonna become your friend, you gained a friend for life.
I would understand why he gets furious, i mean he grew up in kinda like a war zone full of crimes, he probably seen people get killed, and grew up in a stressful life.
Vargas: "...Because we are well trained soldiers are recruited into the narcos." Ghost: "Why not you?" Vargas: "...We grew up here, we love this place and we will die fighting for it..." This was the moment I knew Vargas was a real one and knew there was going to be no betrayal. I thought he was going to be connected to Valeria and worked for the narcos as well but the actors did well and you could really tell their true intentions. The Los Vaqueros easily became my favorite parts of the campaign.
They could’ve included a plot twist in which the missiles aren’t stolen by AQ, Iran, or Konni Russian soldiers. But instead masterminded by Rodolfo Parra himself. His intentions really stem from when his godfather infamous drug lord Manuel El Gordo Roba was killed by Simon Ghost Riley. The original Ghost. As well as the fact that El Gordo was the real power of this country. His death created a huge power vacuum within the narco world. It created lots of cartels and created a drug war due to that. Also his other reasons include being sympathetic to the federation from Ghosts and Cordis die led by Raul Menendez that he even met the man himself. And he only joined the vaqueros with Alejandro because the vaqueros are part of the task force 141 itself. And Menendez had some association with Makarov from his hiding days. Considering that Makarov would change the world order. By his own will. But task force 141 led by captain prices uncle William Murray pryce and his second John Buddha Ortiz and Yuri took down Makarov. Only for Yuri to get killed and Buddha killed the mad man. Menendez would avenge him. He’s Perseus. He would find task force 141 and eliminate them. And would use Rodolfo to create false flag terror attacks to destabilize the western ruling hegemony. And even Rodolfo would use the numbers program towards kidnapped soldiers. Including shadow company soldiers. Also he promise second in command of shadow company a new client and new contract that would boost profits. If they turn on task force 141. And allow the missiles to be stolen by Konni and used by Hassan and his AQ.
i like how soap immediately analyzed the white truck, four armed in the back, he saw quickly each of the four are armed. And Vargas is my new favorite character in MW2 i have never been engaged this much in a call of duty game like this, especially the voice actors also act their characters, very nice.
I won't say coldest, that goes to Ghost. Ale is probably most wholesome and loving. A father figure. He reminds me of Maj. Jasem from the 2019 Netflix movie "Mosul", a caring, experienced leader who witnessed his hometown be destroyed by corruption and terror, wanting the good, peaceful times to return, and has little to no mercy to those threatening his men. Jasem refers to his men as "Shababs (young men)", while Alejandro refers to his men as "Carnal (blood brothers)"
Alejandro and Graves were both fun characters Both of them treated their soldiers with respect. Alejando's soldiers were basically family to him while everyone at Shadow Company were just total dude-bros, loved that "Yup-Yup" they always used
I'm surprised to see Mexican Special Forces here, they are rarely portrayed in games And is nothing bad, it a surprise and a welcome one And as another person in the comments said, I was expecting him to join TF-141 but it makes sense he stayed behind, he just wants to help and protect his country
Col. Alejandro is such a great character, he is a great leader, great friend and a great soldier. He loves his Country more then anyone. I thought he will Join TF-141 in Further missions when TF-141 engages in Chicago. He will definitely return in MW3 because I know that Valeria will work with Vladimir Makarov. She isn't died in MW2 soo she will become Secondary Antagonist in MW3.
He loves his country, family and friends. From the way he formed the Los Vaqueros, made sure his family is almost anonymous and mysterious so they're safe in his endeavors and the way he treats his colleagues like brothers, it was fucking awesome.
Did anyone else think Alejandro was going to turn out to be El Sin Nombre? I honestly expected it. He pretty easily flags entire swaths of the Mexican Army as “working with the Cartel,” which I thought was him lying to clear out potential enemies. He is able to infiltrate the mansion easily, and tells Soap to be honest about everything going on. Honestly, I’m pretty sure that that may have been the original intention. Would’ve explained why Shadow so quickly does a face-heel turn(though I do like that Graves is showcased to be a jingoistic jackass beforehand). In that alternate version, Shadow and 141 differ in opinion on whether or not working with the Cartel is worth it, resulting in 141 being branded as corrupt when they side with them. However, it is still possible that what I thought was the case is actually the case. Think about it: Valeria and Vargas know each other, and Vargas seemed incredibly eager to distance himself from her at all costs. It could be that Valeria was a way for the real El Sin Nombre to cooperate with NATO without blowing his cover, by using Valeria as a red herring. El Sin Nombre might be intended as a way to keep Valeria’s identity a secret, but that may also belie a second truth hidden. El refers to a male. Valeria is female. That in and of itself is unconventional to make her being El Sin Nombre believable. But it’s also just unconventional enough to serve that purpose, possibly implying that it was there by design. I may be giving the writers too much credit, but I actually think that at some point when Vargas is added as a playable character, we may be treated to a reveal of his true identity.
They do mention she killed her boss so She might have just kept the El sin nombre as a title it's harder to find the boss when your looking at the wrong gender Edit about 3:20
Ngl would’ve been better than Valeria they should’ve had her appear in the game before it doesn’t even feel like a twist but more just a set up for the dlc
I found it on Reddit: "It’s clear that Valeria, who hides behind the pseudonym “El Sin Nombre” has some sort of past relationship with Alejandro that goes beyond being squadmates. They get too emotional for it to have been a purely profession relationship, and Graves hints at something deeper in Enemy at the Gate when he notices Alrjandro’s similarity in phrasing to Valeria and asks “so what don’t I know about your affiliation with a drug lord?” The question is, what kind of relationship was this? One possible theory is that they are siblings. This theory is supported during Alejandro’s first interrogation of Valeria, when he states, in English, “You disgrace the army,” then checks behind his shoulder, chuckles, and continues in Spanish “Y tus hermanos, no?” (“And your brothers, no?”). Of course, this could just mean brothers in arms, but the way he chuckles, checks his shoulder, and says this in Spanish makes me wonder if this is something more. Furthermore, Alejandro’s refusal to disclose information about his family to Soap in Cartel Protection could indicate that Valeria is a family member rather than my next theory: an ex. There is lots of behavioral evidence that Alejandro and Valeria used to be a couple. The way they talk to each other gives of the impression of a couple that went through a rough separation. But my reason for making this post is to point out one particular piece of evidence that supports this theory: the name El Sin Nombre. As we learn in the campaign, “El Sin Nombre” means “That without a name” and refers to Valeria’s secretive identity. Or does it? I theorize that this pseudonym contains a double meaning: not just “El Sin Nombre” but the similarly pronounced “El Sin Hombre”: “that without a man.” Perhaps she picked this name during her breakup with Alejandro, and pretended that it was just “El Sin Nombre,” but knowing to herself the deeper meaning behind the name".
