Many years ago I watched the gardener at my place of work stack bags full of leaves to have them thrown away. I had him put as many of the bags as possible in my car. I lived in an area that is very hot and dry in summer. The leaves kept the soil moist, protected young plants and was a thriving habitat for insects which in turn attracted birds. Within a few months the leaves were completely broken down. I moved away but still collect leaves at my current home whenever they are available to make mulch. I love the lawnmower trick. I am trying that next year so I can store more leaves for the dry hot months.
It’s amazing how something so simple can help bring life to your home. I like how you need them as you live in a place that has hot summers. I can see how they would help greatly!
I wish I had leaves available! I’ve got a shredder and if I aimed it at my front garden (my biggest planting), composted them or made leaf mould, it’d be amazing! I’m loving your content bro
Thanks for the educational advice.. going to look at dead fallen leaves differently now. So useful 👏🏻
Thank you babes. Usually dead tree leaves are annoying, but now they can be useful
