Here's a rare 1957 Ford Fairlane 500 Skyliner! It has a retractable hardtop roof that you almost need to charge admission for to watch go up and down! It's powered by a 312ci V8 and a 3 speed automatic transmission. It has power steering, dual exhaust, original 14 inch wheels & hubcaps, and wide white tires! the interior has beautiful two tone upholstery, an attractive dash board, AM/FM cassette deck, compass & traffic light finder, and is very comfortable to ride in! It also is equipped with a continental kit with the spare tire on the back and mile long fender skirts! The car is straight and solid, has beautiful paint and chrome, and runs and drives excellent!

Fabulous car
Jimmy Beaumont should be as big as Paul Anka, Sinatra, etc. He is a great singer. The group should be right up there with the Platters. Many talents just don't get through the right door. He knew enough to bring in some strings (violins) to create their beautiful sound. But it was his voice that made The Skyliners make it big.

This is when automobile makers allowed engineer's to build cars..
I would pull the fender skirts and Continental Kit for a much cleaner look!
These bodies were cobbled together from the regular Sunliner, as the rear ends are unique to Skyliner. I suppose the body parts could be patched or fabricated, but where in the devil would you ever find that top mechanism or rear deck if the car got smashed somehow.

I'd greatly appreciate if you were able to help me with a rough value on one of these that is complete but disassembled. My uncle tore down to do a frame up restore and passed away recently. Everything from the firewall forward is apart along with some body panels i believe
According to Black Book, the lowest value is around 16,000 for a complete one. It'd probably need to be put together to bring over 10k though.

Wow this was one of my primo used cars back in the 1960’s, however minis the continental kit on the back. It had a 428 cu in V8 police interceptor engine . The engine burned 8 quarts of oil every day and got 10 mpg.. Back the I always bought used cars for cheap and drive them until the dropped. I had no one to co sign a loan and banks would not give me a deal on a first car to a 19 year old Hot Rodder. I fixed as much as I could possibly afford to or had the skill to do so, bit I did love this beater. It was a police turnpike cruiser , a cross over 57 / 58 model year. It was the car my wife and I had our 1st date in. The DO NOT Make EM like this anymore.
