- I am very happy that Gennady Lukinykh sent me this wonderful piece so that I can share it here with you. Very emotional and melodic as always ...
Gennady Lukinykh (Perm, Russia, b. 1965) - composer,
jazz pianist, arranger, member of the Russian Musical Union,
winner of the «Golden diploma» VII Slavic music forum «Golden
knight», the laureate of International and All-Russian
competitions.
G. Lukinykh a graduate of the Ural State Conservatory
named after M. P. Mussorgsky (1991). To study composition and
arrangement began in the period of study in Perm Musical College
(1980-1984). He is the author of vocal works - romances,
miniatures, ballads, songs, compositions and arrangements for
choirs and vocal groups of various compositions, mainly a
cappella.
G. Lukinykh is the author of compositions for piano in
various genres - from academic to jazz. G. Lukinykh performs
solo piano jazz programs. As an accompanist and singer
(baritone), he performs as part of a "Romantic Duet" with his wife
Victoria Lukinykh (soprano). The collective is a laureate of the
International and All-Russian competitions of Russian romance
performers.
Three original sheet music albums by Gennady Lukinykh
with vocal music have been published in Perm. A sheet music
album «Piano Miniatures» has been created in a computer format.

That's a very interesting piece thought in a neo-baroque fashion (such as Sarabande). Basso Continuo for the left that may be even realized with keyobard and gamba and a very structured polyphonic (2-3 voices) melody for the right hand with a few expressive embellishments. There's obviously a post-romantic nuance .............. but the neo-baroque style is self sufficient to generate emotions

I like that the relatively common resolutions in the right hand are supported by descending bass lines which spice them up and make them appealing.
