This is where Travis falls short. She's 9th in fantasy points, is covered 94 feet, gets no help from her team, in fact they hold her back and her coach works against her. She's the fastest woman in history to 100 points, 50 rebs, 50 asst, and 1 of only two women in hx to score 150+ points in their first 10 games. She alone has lifted the wnba rock and it's not her fault what ugly creatures scurry out from under it. It ridiculous- she didn't ask for any of it, she just wants to play. SHE isn't the problem. Her naysayers are the problem.

She's underpaid. Take 40 x 10,000 x 50 that's 20,000,000. That's increase in tickets sales only. The new TV deal she'lll make them at least 100 million. Her 26 is over 8 years, she likely got ripped off by Nike.
The funniest part of all of it is the haters are getting her paid. Angel chasing her after the final pissed everyone off, now people are watching.

The funny part is CC goes out and plays a good game, does a noncontroversial press conference, and doesn't respond to any of this and makes big bucks. Then the rest of the players get on social media and destroy their prospects of getting endorsements with terrible posts.

They tried making her the white privileged villain, and CC never took the bait!! She has stayed classy and humble despite being attacked constantly. Then players started attacking her physically. She WILL be the best player in the W, give her time. How is it fair to put this much pressure on a rookie who only had weeks after the NCAA Championship to start playing professionally and has played 11 games in 17 days while the top team Las Vegas Aces played SIX. Chicago, Atlanta, and Dallas only 7. And so on... She hasn't even had time to recover or rest and is playing on the worst team in the league. She can't possibly be playing at her best, yet she is STILL breaking records already. All while being double teamed and fouled constantly. The pressure you media ppl put on her is insane. On top of all the race baiting BS. The way she is handling all this proves that she is a star. She is a role model for young girls all over this country and deserves every penny from her deals!

Elegantly said. She’s a role model for both my children (13 year old son and 11 year old daughter). My youngest doesn’t play basketball but my son and I watch basketball all the time including some women’s sports. We were both intrigued during Caitlin two final four runs. Caitlin is a role model for my daughter because she’s an example that life isn’t always easy and you have to work hard to achieve your goals. My son plays basketball and Ive shown him what she’s enduring and how to handle himself on the court when there’s adversity. I showed him that, she got that ridiculousness cheap shot and didn’t retaliate and that Indiana won by one point. And how that one point could theoretically came from the foul. Every point and every possession counts. Obviously should’ve been a flagrant but I’m tired of talking about the nonsense. Caitlin is a role model for all kids of all ages and even her so called peers can learn from her if they weren’t so weak minded

She is having more impact as a rookie in a pro league, than anyone else in any league has ever had, male or female. And not by any immediate performance, but just by showing up with the spectre of domination. The welfare league is now frought with jealousy over a college girl's (well earned) shoe deal. It would serve the wnba right if she chucked it all in for a coaching gig in a small town that didn't allow out-of-state transfers. Snap out of it, Clay, the shoe deal is for future greatness based on past greatness, nothing to do with comparative stats! She's already the best passer in the wnba, and will soon be the best shooter, assuming her team-mates don't sabotage the rest of her season.

Race may well be why the media is covering Caitlan, but it is not why I have been following her since Iowa. I see a young hard working girl in the prime of her life that can be a role model for young girls and so far I see a class act. She has the potential to help bring the WNBA to a new level and make people a lot of money. Yes I agree that competitive play on the ball can be rough at times, but there is no place for retaliation. What Carter did off the ball was pure retaliation. Watch the video again and look at the words she is mouthing "You Bitch" and then she slams Caitlan to the floor. So what's next, teams have to hire goons to protect their stars? These types of players will not elevate the sport. It will not keep the new fans especially those bringing their little girls. What responsible parent would want to expose their children to that type of behavior? Hell I'm a grown man and I don't want to see that in any sport. I just want to see the sport played as it should.

She's a phenomenal athlete and a generational talent. A talent like Caitlin Clark is marketable and probably an excellent business decision done by Nike.

Serena and Venus are interesting. There were absolutely racist issues they faced but they had each other on tour, plus they had a father with a strong and visible presence as well. Their play was undeniable. They had very strong personalities. With Caitlin, it's different. She is not controversial in any way. She is not political. She is not one who is known for being in the fashion lane. She just plays basketball and everything she's garnered off the court is centered on basketball. I can't remember anything in all my years of watching sports like this Caitlin Clark story.

Shoe deals don't go to the best athletes. They go to the most marketable athletes. It has nothing to do with talent or accomplishment or achievement and everything to do with how many eyes will be on that athlete. The athletes are walking billboards for a company, and the more people see an athlete, the more they will associate them with that brand. You're talking about Caitlin Clark right now which goes to show she deserves 28 million if not more.

My Lord, dad, mom and grandparents are the only role models i need. Picking strangers in movies, sports and politics as role models shows a lack of faith and a disregard for family tradition within a person. Pop culture personalities are only role models for immature children and immature adults. I can understand childhood crushes on these people. But in reality these sports leagues, movies, tv shows, journalists, social media has drowned the culture in fake super humans who don't really exist. None of these people are the media hype is important in the whole scheme of things.
