Mahman get leatherman warranty!

  • My leather pliers broke on me one day and I shipped it out and they replaced it with new refurbished ! I was quite happy with the service

    I bought a Leatherman TTi a couple years ago and use it daily. Great tool. Unfortunately, my pliers stops opening and I had to use both hands to separate the pliers heads. A real pain.
    I decided to send in my TTi for Warranty repair.
    I sent it in, insured, 2 day delivery, and 1 month later received it back.
    While waiting I was going crazy not having my TTi, so I broke down and bought a Surge (black oxide version with Molle sheath). I love it by the way.
    So while waiting a month for my TTi to come back i watched all these great videos on how Leatherman went above and beyond to satisfy their customers. Sending back new or refurbished tools, including leather cases and even bits in some situations! Well this pumped me up. I spent $170 for my TTi, surely they would "take care" of me too.
    Well, if I'm being honest, I was disappointed. I received my Leatherman a month later in an envelope, with no letter. Yes the issue was repaired. But no refurbished TTi, no case (the snap broke off my Leather case that came with the TTi and I held off replacing it because of the videos showing new cases). I received my tool back, repaired, and I believe they sharpened my S30V blade, but the tool was not cleaned and the tools feel lose and they wobble. Maybe from not being tightened fully from the repair.
    I am only writing this to hopefully help keep others from having high hopes on their returned items.
    They repaired my tool. The warranty said they would and they did. I am happy. I'm glad I have my TTi back. I missed it a great deal. The only reason I'm disappointed is because I watched so many videos of others getting Red Carpet treatment on items half the cost, or less than my TTi.
    I love Leatherman and am proud to carry and brag on their tools. If not for the videos, I would be very happy with the results.

    hey bro how was canadas service? I'm from the west (vancouver, like 4-5 hours away from Portland headquarters)

    leatherman philippines sucks though. willi hahn's favorite qoute "we can't replace it since it is not a factory defect".

      Is this true? Cause i planning to buy at hahn's and they price them at a very high cost but still want to buy there because of the warranty. If your tools break would they replace it?
