Mike Stringer has always been great at creating an atmosphere whether it's synths or little guitar melodies/effects in the backgrounds of tracks. It's kind of a Spiritbox trademark at this point. From the first EP with the actual Spiritbox static to the nice synths in say a Blessed Be or even this song.
I subscribed to you because of your amazing knowledge about music.. but I must say it's morphing into 50/50 for the way you react, because this is exactly how I feel inside when listening to music.
I just get punched in the gut every time when I listen to Spiritbox. I love the way they write songs. Courtney's voice is AMAZING, but can we talk about Mike's guitar playing? It's so good. I think Spiritbox is doing some different things in the world of metal which makes them so fun to listen to. This is one of those bands where all their songs are a bit different...but there is no question it's a Spiritbox song when it comes on. I am so very excited about this new album. I haven't followed you for long, much to my regret. I'm very happy to see you posting videos again though. It sounds as though you've suffered from the usual type of internet asshattery, but just know you've helped a lot of us discover new bands. You've also helped me appreciate some of my favorite bands on new levels, and I'm sure I'm not alone in that.
Glad to see you back Chase! Although I love when they take a surprise turn into heavy I’m kind of glad they didn’t here b/c 1) it wouldn’t have fit the song and 2) it keeps them from establishing a “formula.” If every song HAD to have a heavy breakdown (or even clean vocals), it would start to get predictable, so it’s nice to see them do a song that’s 100% clean vocals (but not a ballad).
Your enthusiasm for the song is contagious. In some places you seem like the happiest child who was put in a candy store and was told: You have a free choice and don't have to pay. And it's a bliss to see you're back. Much love and respect from Germany Chase!

I personally really like watching his videos for my second listen through. The first one lets me hear it uninterrupted so I can form a whole complete opinion of it and then the second with his pausing and breaking it down which lets me appreciate it more and helps me solidify my opinion. It never fails, seeing him get so excited about hearing something in the song and then he smiles and starts playing an air instrument, always brings me into a good mood and a smile to my face. Also, they have an insane guitar player, good riffs and a very interesting breakdown at the end. Coutrney's feature is more like Holy Roller than this song. Something unique about Courtney's vocals is she either sings softly or she screams, she doesn't belt. She has a very soft and almost whispery sexy singing voice and songs like this where she clean sings throughout the song is nice, but when she screams, she's a beast! I really wish they were playing with Jinjer when I see them (Jinjer) in October.
