At last I have found a video that instructs how to draft a pattern from an existing top - hence from scratch which is what Iv'e been looking for. Most videos leave this aspect out and just show you how to cut and sew one. So well done. Love what you do. I'm definitely your fan. A lovely choice of music too. Subscribed
@@Lillyflower-J88 that’s awesome! Please let me know how it goes when you make it 👍🏼 I sometimes use cups or bowls or anything I have around to draw curves when I can’t find my curved ruler
What a fantastic tutorial you've offered here, and so accessible! I have felt too intimidated to draft my own collar, but your video cured that! Thanks so much for making and sharing this with us all.
Thank you so much! I appreciate your kind words. I'm trying to get better at creating instructional videos that are concise but also feels organic and comfortable.. like talking to a friend :)
Thank you so much for this video! The flexibility of the pattern not only helped me do some collars, but make a new blouse have batshaped Details and it looks so good together! 🦇 Also the sewing machine is gorgeous!!
Hi, I love the video though when I placed and pinned the ribbion down to then fold it from inside out, the ribbion was on top of the collar. What did I do wrong? Could it be that because im not using interface ?
Hi! When you’re pinning the ribbon make sure the only part that is sandwiched in between the fabric are the very ends where you would tie the bow to hold the collar together! the rest of the pinning is just to get the ribbon out of the way while sewing. hope this helps! good luck with your project! 👍🏼
Hey! Interfacing (the iron on kind) is ironed on the back side of the fabric to stiffen up the collar to give it more structure, hope this clears it up!
Definitely the most comprehensive and easiest to follow tutorial for a detachable collar. Thank you!

Could you please tell me where this fabric is from?
it's from Jo Ann Fabrics! their halloween designs!
what is the name of the fabric used on the edge of the collar?
it's lace!
Hi there. It’s me again. You didn’t mention anything about the interfacing. Please explain.
