As a long term professional I suggest you NOT to cut the Tango elastic before making the knot. It’s much easier to make the knot when you have long tails and you can tighten it enough so it goes neatly inside the hole. And if you use sticky tape, please clean the surfaces with alcohol.

Instead of double stick tape, I use rubber cement. It has worked for me for years with flipper coins. Use an X-Acto knife to get the smaller piece out. The only rubber bands that I have seen for sale are tiny ones for quarter flipper coins and the next size for half dollar flipper coins. And all that scraping with a chisel is ruining the inside of the coin.

Is that like scotch tape or is it thicker?

I think using tha kind of healing to unstuck the part tha doesn' t move is the worst thing ..if it is for silver coins it will be terrible because u are going to ruin the patina .....but for copper nickel coins i think is more easy to restabilish the patina i think is better to use a solvent when there' s glue
The best way to stuck tha part is to use double stick scotch

Couldn't figure out how to get the elastic under the short end and glad it was simple as removing it off. I used a fork to help wrap it around the coin and that made it so much quicker. Thanks so much for posting this video. Really helped and saved me a huge amount of time.

I can't thank you enough. I had my Tango magnetic flipper although i don't see anything magnetic about it. I dropped it on the floor after 3 days and the elastic rubber band broke. They included 3 small rubber bands however. I used a scripto lighter to heat up and remove the glue and it came apart easily. I then used a scouring pad and stainless steel cleaner and the coin looks new. The problem was stretching that little rubber bad around but I finally got the hang of it. I just ordered AJ Sign World Best 1" Ultra-Thin Permanent Double-Sided Tape because it mentioned super thin. I looked for the 3m products but none of them said thin and they all seemed to be too thick; they seemed like mounting tape. My coin is now sitting in the box in the shell while I await for my tape to arrive in a few days and will see how it works out. It does seem like a gravity flipper now in lieu of a magnetic flipper as the strength of the replacement bands seem to have less tension but this is fine for me because I think the coin/s will now be able to be positioned flat on my palm instead of angled. Again thank you so much because I am not out $50 :)

Hi, great video. I wondered if you could recommend anyone who could make bespoke coins? I need to lathe a fraction of the circumference of a few 10 pence pieces so they fit in an okito box.

Very helpful video- I would caution using a razor-blade with great force pointed directly at your other hand. It is not fun when that slips.

Hello, could you share a link with me where to buy the adhesive tape?
    Thank you!

Thank for sharing your solution I just repaired my flipper coin thanks to your instruction. FYI, I placed some aluminium paper under the coin to avoid getting any dark spot on the coin, and that worked great, and saved me the cleaning part :)
    Cheers

I never understand what a pro gravity flipper is used for, I had one early in my magic learning and it broke I lost pieces before I fixed it. Besides the systems mechanics why would I buy a pro? Especially if I own a standard?

Thanks for posting. Can you give more detail on the exact 3M tape you are using? I can't find a roll that looks like that in the US. If you can provide a link, that would be great too. Thanks for posting this; very helpful. Bonsalopes are the best, btw.

My pleasure Mark! here's a link to the tape we use: www.googleadservices.com/pagead/aclk?sa=L&ai=DChcSEwjbpaLsq7ThAhWYzXcKHTvNCRIYABAVGgJlZg&ohost=www.google.com&cid=CAESQOD254KEVwrnhpMDcRhKl62443wmeHXFW9mbFLrZT7UgmWRte06EyzM7H5dLauT0K8KegxAaoVgMXQdM4QE04cQ&sig=AOD64_07_JO2sTqGsaEvgCyN6EoZKisOMg&ctype=5&q=&ved=0ahUKEwiD1pnsq7ThAhX3ThUIHaLkChAQ9aACCKUC&adurl=, but any good quality tape should be fine.

Excellent tutorial, Thank you very much. If I may add a suggestion, isopropyl alcohol or acetone will clean up any glue residue quite handily, if you're stuck with one of those versions. I highly recommend the flippers from Jamie Schoolcraft, which come with a jig and bands that make band replacement quick and easy, and their action is perfection, opening and closing. But, I have a good many Sterling and Johnson, and maybe a Sasco and Tango, flippers that are in need of band replacement. And, so, I thank you again for your most helpful video.

To be honest, I strongly recommend that you should buy made in Germany or made in Japan instead of made in USA.... the magical tools made in USA is really low quality, cannot use at all
