Ogata is such an interesting character. I want someone to make a whole character analysis video on him. His sociopathic ways are so well-written. Due to growing up without love or affection from his parents, he’s incapable of being sympathetic to others and understanding people’s emotions. But he doesn’t want to believe that he is missing something that other people has and wants to believe that everyone is the same as him. Thus, he claims that no one actually feels any guilt for killing others and that when given the chance, all people will end up showing their dirty sides no matter what their upbringings are. I bet this mindset is also a coping mechanism for self-affirmation and to believe that if circumstances were different, there was a way for him to receive affection from his family for who he is. However, his brother and Asirpa were both purely good people, which went against his beliefs. This was probably why he killed his brother and tried to kill Asirpa. Although, in his brother’s case, as Ogata said before, it was also to find out if his father will start paying attention to him once his brother is gone, which will prove that there was a chance for him to receive love and affection and a chance that his brother could have ended up like him. Unfortunately for him, this plan ended up failing though. He’s basically like a child who’s starving for love but doesn’t realize it because I don’t think he even fully understands his own emotions. He’s also clearly feeling some guilt for killing his brother since I bet he was the only one who ever showed him some affection, but he denies it to uphold his belief. His twisted mindset that he developed as a coping mechanism is basically preventing him from receiving the love that he truly wants, so he is pretty much digging his own grave and moving further away from salvation, which I find it to be very depressing and tragic. I hope he gets at least a satisfying conclusion by the end of the story. He may be unredeemable, but I want him to be saved.
Honestly a deep character analysis would be a great video on this character but one things for certain I know by the end of this the character gonna do something that’s gonna make him die a horrible death
@@ds3rampage154 Aww man. I love Ogata’s character so I would hate for that to happen. But then again, I can see that happening. Ever since his backstory came up, I’ve had a bad feeling that he won’t be having a nice ending.

Or maybe he suffers from a combination of both problems 🤷♀️ It would be very interesting to read the opinion of an expert on this matter. In any case, his reasons regarding the hunt of the golden treasure remain a mistery, he clearly wasn't honest to Asirpa so we still don't know why he left the army and made different alliances, first with Hijikata and then with Kiroranke. The manga will reveal this eventually and so will the anime if we ever see a season 4 in the future. Only then we will discover Ogata's true colours.

One of the most interesting thing in this anime is that there's no heroes or villains. Yes, Sugimoto and Asirpa is the main character but the story follows many more characters. Highlights their background and lives, and they all do what they have to do. The realism makes me not hate any of them. Ogata is one that character. I'm glad that he didn't die, I want to see more of him (gotta read the manga since I finished the anime). And that voice of his.... DAMN! Ugh it's dark yet so soothing to hear.

You don't even know how I've been waiting for this to get animated :') One of the best manga out there...
0:17 尾形「流石だ杉本X…」
My jaw dropped when Asirpa shot Ogata in the eye. It further dropped when Sugimoto saved him.
And dropped even more when Shiraishi...
この感動のシーンからの放尿王である
My favorite part is still the FACT that Ogata used Sugimotos moniker in his head.
That violin after he gets shot in the eye is amazing
This season was so good..
That my first time I've seen ogata looks scared
agree* it seems sugimuto refuses to kill him* because he needs a piece of information from him*
Don't correct people when your grammar is even worse.
@Lex 666 agreed. Spoiler: he is hella smart for escaping from hospital when sugimoto almost kill him.
