Like the up dates on your rebuilt. I am rebuilding my 1944 MB so very interested in your jeep project.
    Please keep the videos coming

Again nice video! I am doing a 1942 GPW and are in a similar situation like you, buying lots of stuff! Just a remark on your light switch, at the end there should be a circuit breaker as well. I think these are the same on the rotary as on the pull-push ones. Good luck!

I've noticed that the primer looks like red oxide. Was this before zinc chromate? I know that tis was used for several years since I worked for a company that made devices for the government. All their stuff was primed in zinc chromate. Back in the '60's.

I think you have a Motometer short needle speedo which I reckon is correct for your MB - nice condition too - did you get it rebuilt and who did you use ? if you don't mind me asking

Building new battery cables would be best and fairly easy to do. Old copper does oxidize.

Im in Utah so what limited slip or locking diffs, plus power steering and over drive just to make it better at 4wheeling?

A very nice haul ! I find the pull out light switch is always a challenge to know what is switched on, but I have them on both of my Jeeps, the crown wheel and pinion will be a bit of a challenge, I had to make up special tooling when I set up mine as I managed to buy these new, it is always nice to find bits wrapped in 1944 Ohio Times newspaper when you break through the cosmoline. Your weld looks really nice on the spring bracket, what make welder do you have ? Chris B.

A Cobel Tig200, its a good welder for what it does, my brother had to repair some lose connections in it but otherwise it works well!

I may have made fun of you before for being so “careful” (“Sorry about the white socks.” remark) but truth be told guys like you make the best videos of this type as you’re fastidious and rampant attention to detail will help me build a better Jeep. 😎
I REALLY want to have an MB or a M38 here in Ecuador n the next few years. Any ideas for sources? (Parts, bodies, frames, etc.)
Ecuador seems quite remote and selective about where things can be sourced from but maybe something in South America?

Collecting parts mark them off the list.
