Never mind the steelworkers, the guy letting the horse jump between his legs has my respect! One trailing hoof and he'd be singing falsetto for the rest of his life!
Another phenomenal selection of photos. There are so many i loved! This is how history should be taught instead of memorizing dates- but seeing & understanding
Hahaha...I thought all 5 feet of me was the only one who did alley-oop for the free throw!! Oh yes, and in 1980 my husband bought a Chevy Chevette for $1,600!! Excellent collection! Thanks
That free throw comment made me spit my drink out 🤣🤣 … I would love to own a classic … my fav is the c3 corvette .. around the early 80’s same era… but I could buy a brand new corvette for what a decent restomod would cost now 🙈
That first photo reminded me of The Andy Griffith Show Barney's Physical where he has to gain heighth and weight to keep his job. They strung him up in a similar fashion. Opie made a little money charging his friends to see.
1;24 US military draft LOTTERY drew your birthday number. I went in 1973. It had nothing to do with "Vietnam" and a lot to do with balance and equity for all of draft age.
There’s a couple of great early 70’s documentaries and it’s amazing … There wasn’t even proper barriers and the crowd could just walk on and talk to drivers during pit stops 🤷🏼♂️

I'm old. I worked at a dealership during high school. I'll take the Javelin. The owner said if I sold 12 cars I could have the AMX sitting on the showroom floor. Nope, didn't make it. Darn!
No one would volunteer. The lottery picked random birth dates. If your number came up you were expected to show up. It was a federal offense if you didn't.
@@beverlywelo Nah...if you had a social security card, your name, address & birthdate were on file in W.D.C. I took a test two days before Christmas (a month after Kennedy was shot) and was ordered to the bus station at 5:30 a m. on February 12th 1964. Dark, ugly, miserable times.
Will human misery, madness, excessive ambitions and also carelessness ever come to an end? I enjoyed the photo of the boys jumping off a roof with an umbrella and that didn't seem to be crazy or really dangerous, especially at their age, but did they grow up to become more ''sensible'' adults than those men ''passing the time away'' in Fort Sheridan???
Maybe you don’t have one 🤷🏼♂️ … Most trolls don’t But, maybe it’s as simple as you didn’t enjoy the video and could’ve just moved on without comment to something you find more enjoyable … let’s go with that one. Have a wonderful evening 🤗
Daredevil steelworkers..respect!!

Nope!
This thread 🤣
My grandson is one. He even said whoa to this photo. Even with all the safety in place these days I don't like to think about his job.
Fantastic. I particularly enjoyed the music on this clip, too. Thanks, Mark. Best wishes from England 🇬🇧
Thank you and happy belated St George’s Day to my place of birth 🤗🏴
Is Saint Swithens Day next month ?
Wonderful selection of images - thanks
Glad you enjoyed it ! 🤗

Amazing pictures, I wonder how the cars were held down like that on the train ?
6:45 This is the first time I have ever seen cars transported by real LIKE THAT.
Me too .. I never knew such a thing existed until I found that photo !
I can’t the image the pain that would felt hanging upside and the horse kicking him in the 😵💫😵💫
… I think “gentlemen biscuits” is the phrase you were looking for 🤣

I watch these videos before going to bed and have the most interesting dreams.
This is the best comment this week 🤣🤣🤣 …
Well done! Short explanation and long dwell time.

Great! Now I’ve got to go find and watch that episode 🙈 🤣
@@AmazingHistoricalPhotos Thanks for the reply. It's a great episode. It even has a product endorsement for Baskin-Robbins. You'll enjoy.
Ok … now I need ice cream too !
@@AmazingHistoricalPhotos You'll enjoy that as well.
I love the mobile carousel.
I didn’t know such a thing existed until I found the picture! Thought it was very cool too 👍🏻
My oldest Brother was #5 draft of '69. Made it alive and a successful life.
Great to hear he made it through ❤️
AM radio at NO EXTRA CHARGE!!!!!1!! No wonder AMC went out of business
nice
that last one reminds me of coins now

First picture: Would that really have worked?🤔
It seems more like an attempt at suicide to me.😂
Great collection of photos! 👌
Let’s put it this way … I wouldn’t try it at home 😆
@@AmazingHistoricalPhotos 😅 Me neither! 😁
Those Formula One photographers 😰😰😱

I would of maybe inclined to keep the worthless bank notes
If you have US dollars then you already do … just give it a few more months.
@4:08 of course the French fireman is holding a cigarette. 😂
🤣🤣 I didn’t notice that … Your comment would’ve made the perfect caption 🤣
Mmm Vietnam draft lottery 😤
Might be getting that back soon.

The AMC ad was awesome 1800 bucks for a gremlin? Sign me up
That 71 Javelin has my name written all over it … I’m looking for one since I found this photo 🤣

Wow … that’s awesome … other than missing the quota … that would’ve made the story even better! Such a beautiful looking car … I love the classics
What if I have no soul to touch?
Then you’re probably a Leaf fan 🤷🏼♂️
The draft lottery who would volunteer for that
You didn’t volunteer for the draft lottery! If the month and year of your birth was drawn, you were forced to go to war! It wasn’t a choice.
No one would volunteer. The lottery picked random birth dates. If your number came up you were expected to show up. It was a federal offense if you didn't.

The draft lottery was near the end of the draft, not the beginning.
That's a lottery no one wanted to "win".
