I remember I was in college when this came out, living in Columbia Missouri, and in the spring time this song would play on the what was then the modern country radio station and once when it played the DJ announced it and said “here we have a new song by a group called The Mavericks, and I have a feeling it’s going to be the hot song of the summer“. And it was!!!
I was 5 years old when I heard this and I fell in love with country music... my dad would listen to this on TV back in the days.. wish they could make music like this now days..
Just love it. Pulls at the heart. Simple song ,simple chord structure but played beautifully, and I dare anyone not to get stiffy induced listening to a 12 string Rick.....
Raul Malo is cuban and started his musical career in a new wave band called The Tomboys and then The Basics. When he put The Mavericks together still in Miami they did have a following, I saw them at the Island Club on Washington Ave and 7th street in SoBe but obviously their style wasn't 305. They moved to Nashville and the rest is history!
Jesus. I haven't heard this for years. I absolutely loved this performance when I saw it in '94. And the other track they did on Jools. And what a Rickenbacker I didn't know the significance of Rikkies back then. And I loved the way the drummer played. God this brings back memories.
SO glad I ran across this! Loved Mavericks~esp. Raul's voice. 1st time I heard them was on the radio coming home from a beach trip and I literally had to pull off the side of road to hear the DJ announce name of the band so I could follow them!
I don't like country music in general. Since the age of 13 my band has and always will be AC/DC. Obviously rock is my genre of choice with Classical music being second(odd I know). That said, this is a damned great song. I stumbled into hearing it during the time I worked at Texas Roadhouse years ago. I still don't like country but like I said, this is definitely an exception.

Raul has more talent in his little finger than most artists today. Love seeing him evolve over the years.
Damn straight
RICHARD DU BIST DER BESTE MANN FÜRS HERZ PS Ich liebe Dich über alles bleib gesund Eva
Absolutely!!!
That voice... even better today (2023) than it was way back then...
Love this song.❤❤
Absolutely…saw them this week for the first time. Blown away with entire band‘s musicality.
Seriously
Very underrated band great sound and vocals
Love this song ❤🔥🎼🎵🎶🎙🎷🪗🎸🎹🎺🎻🥁Many thanks Raul Malo ‼The Mavericks is super band 🔊🔥👌👋
Can't believe almost 30 years ago!
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Love this band and it’s a crying shame they don’t get more airplay.
Not enough lines about trucks and beer in their songs…🙄
One of my favorite songs to sing
Raul just got better with age!!!!!! WHEW!!!!!
Love this song and the great band Mavericks
That voice.., and still strong as ever...
I love how they seamlessly blend country and crooner 50's music. Perfect!
And just a touch of The Byrds.
@@brucedunkle9136 I was thinking the same thing. The 12-string Rickenbacker definitely gives it a Byrds feel.
I can't imagine what a shame to be a person that's never discovered the mavericks!
If you ever have the opportunity to see The Mavericks live, do it!
Waht a voice. Still good as ever. Thank you Raul Malo and The Mavericks.
I never get tired of listening to 80's & 90's country. Makes me want to go dancing again.
Love Raul's voice. The band is great.
One fantastic band.. only one Raul…I’ve listened to them since the early 90’s❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️👍👍👍👍
Just back for a little Maverick's 'medicine' uplift. Rough day, Works every time that Raul's voice will lift ya' up!
Rauls voice is the best.

Fabulous! This song just gets better as it ages. Raul Malo -- what a talent!
I love this live version, but I do miss the "one, two, three, four" near the end.

Epic. Good simple Country at it's best. Raul Malo, a fine singer, is channeling some Roy Orbison here and there. Nice to hear.

I hated the song in the 90s but for some reason I love it now. I don’t know why it came to mind today but I can’t stop playing it😂
I love the Mavericks. Great song.
They are the best!
Great album
Great music listen to them for years. Still great to keep listening to 😃❤️
God I'm getting bored of this song, only listened to it about a thousand times today.
Great song
From a top album. Wished they’d stayed close to their country roots. So much better than todays offerings, bar Eric Church.
I agree i dont care fot the driection they are in now and most the original members are gone
Great band!!!
Love the music so relaxing
This song is amazing, but them backing vocals on keys are frigging gorgeous.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Raul sings like a 😇 its just amazing 👏
Sounds great listen to them all the time
SO glad I ran across this! Loved Mavericks~esp. Raul's voice. 1st time I heard them was on the radio coming home from a beach trip and I literally had to pull off the side of road to hear the DJ announce name of the band so I could follow them!
Lol, it was almost a wreck in the works! Just LOVE Mavericks and Raul's voice sends me to another dimension!
Beautifully done ❤️
The first time I heard this song I thought it was Roy Orbison
Me too but there was just enough different it made me pull off the road to investigate more! Raul's voice is just amazing. Luv Mavericks!
thats nothing, at first i thought Raul was Dwight Yokum
I miss your music and voices .
When I first seen this video many years ago, I thought the audience was like cardboard cutouts. No emotion what's so ever, for such an upbeat song..
brits
Same cardboard cutouts used at stadiums and arenas during the pandemic. What a great song! So glad I got to see them in 2017.
La combinación perfecta, una Les Paul custom y un Twin Reverb. Dios mío como suena!!! No tiene nada que ver con las Fender que llevan ahora.
❤❤❤

Here because Dylan LeBlanc suggested it...such an amazing performance! Great song!

Bit of a stiff crowd, they're just standing motionless throughout the whole track, mustn't appreciate great music.
British Culture
They're British
They're listening
I think they appreciated it. Such a great song. Simple,no messing and who can't dig a beautiful Rickenbacker.
Yeah - but it's the BBC remember
His hair and skin glos
So did mine 30 years ago😂
His shiny thick hair
The "Original" Mavericks except for the guy on Keyboards
His skin was gold then
Ooft
ONE person has NO taste...
Wow! Can't get over how pretty he was.
How weird all these people standing around like they’re waiting for a bus while this great band plays.
Now, that's a crying shame.
We Brits are too reserved.
@@lynnelovesroses4485 I’m of Scottish decent. I totally get it.
We are getting better at it 😊. I am going to see them on April 25th in London, I will be singing and dancing for all I am worth!
Just discovered them in the last 3 months and saw them live this week…amazing!!!! That voice is absolute butter smooth.
I'm also newly discoverer. wanted to discover them earlier :)
Robert the Bassist lives im my hometown now.
He had some struggles in life but is doing great now
The best music à love 🎵 🎼 🎶 I just discovered this song in Spain and I listen to it a lot I love it makes us escape
A very young Raul..also very handsome… been listening since early 90’s👍👍👍💕💕💕💕
Good band
Are the people behind them dead!
Maybe. But knowing the Mav's sense of visual humor, they might have done it on purpose. 'Cause the audience usually is in FRONT. Just saying.
no, English. Same thing.
This is my favorite song
I love your music
Thanx Mavericks💕💕
