I've been watching many interviews by Jewish survivors and each has a unique experience to share. They are all so strong. I am glad they had good lives after the holocaust.
What a brave strong person you are Helen Jonas Rosenzweig. Thank you for sharing your life of those dreadful years with the whole world. Thank you. May God Bless you and your family.
Her statement about not hating, not wanting to hate, describing herself as carrying pain, instead, brought me to tears. A woman who has every reason in the world to hate, but refuses to let that imbue her soul because of its association with evil and the evil done in its name. Out of everything she says, that was the most powerful. What a lesson.
She's stronger than I am. If a spoiled, rich bully boy psychopath tried to kill my parents and made me clean up after his murderous dogs, here's what I would do. I would find the worst, most festering, most odorous, pile of dog feces (I'm not talking about Goeth. I mean, actual dog feces) I could. And then I would show up to that motherf@#$er's execution and do everything I could to force feed those feces to that wretch before he swung. Sorry not sorry.

As sad and terrifying as Helena's story is...seeing her grandchildren is proof that her struggle was not in vain and that a sweet and innocent young lady ultimately defeated the powerful and evil characters that took so much from her.
She took very good care of herself. Her skin, teeth, etc. Looks so much younger than what she was. I feel so bad for her hearing her painful story. Thank you for sharing. I hope you are with your family again.
Dear one, the most unimaginable and unspeakable things you have endured, and yet it has not dimmed the very beautiful soul that you are to this day. All of my love.
Her story just gets more and more fascinating. I first saw her in the film Inheritance, which I highly recommend...but here I've learned how much more she was actually involved with. What a brave, amazing woman.
Helena's testimony is a story of survival against evil, which is very different to many other stories of survival during the Nazi occupation of Poland. Helena Jonas Rosenzweig was an eye witness. As she said, her experience was one where she was completely alone, she had to endure the daily sadism and mental abuse of an evil man, without any support from family or friends. I admire how she helped others at the constant risk of capture. How she stole important documents. I also liked the way she portrayed Oskar Schindler as being a "decent man" and not as a deity. A human being who was prepared to support the weak and vulnerable. There are an uncountable number of testimonies to the barbarity by some during the Second World War. However, this story stands out to me as a reliable eye witness to a sadistic Concentration Camp Commander.
