Thanks for another great lesson, Matt! Typically, I look at the relationship of the price to its moving averages. For my timeframe, 10-20 parallel 50 DMA/10WMA (Tradingview) for trading. Multiple timeframes for Trend following.
Hey, that's the best video I've seen in a while if not the best. What really helped me was what you said at the 16:40 mark, about using the 200ma as a cut off. I'll be watching and waiting for more videos. I do hope you make one about institutional stocks and what to look for? Thanks again
Typically 1 Day with 50 and 200 DMA, if looking at options, 1m, 3m, using 7/10/21 DMA Simple and VWAP, options can drive a person insane. Thank you for all your work and guidance!
Great insights... thank you for putting up these videos. What is the best MA settings in your opinion for FOREX traders that opens a position on Monday and close it on a Friday?
Big fan and an oldie learning the game- great video. I am only trying swing trades in the current market and am entering on pullbacks with occasional success. Recently I have been adding a straight trendline from initial upward move to ultimate target point of a potential trade, with the TL splitting an average of the area above and below as the stock has made its move up over recent months. Have you ever used this visual approach? Visually it gives me a great perspective as to a stock's runup slope and volatility, as well as a different guidance as to an entry point.
Great Content M. Really liked the way you put in your content, not only the tools(avgs) but different players using it with neat examples and using the word probably/likely more than once. Thanks.
The problem I have with using MA for sell/buy signal is false signaling & whipsaw action. It often break but bounce the other way. So if on a large position it is hard to sell until too late. Dividend stocks you don't want to sell b4 ex-div date just to find out it was knee-jerk. Also can trigger short term cap gain tax in false move.
Hey Matt great work your videos are very helpful. I got to ask you to do a institutional strategies video and really how they act and work. I believe that is the most important thing to understand and that’s the main reason that I’ll buy your course. Thanks a lot!
As always, great content!! Any apps you know of that can send alerts when price hits or comes within the proximity of the 50 day? That would be a priceless tool for those of us who can’t sit at the computer all day.
Houston We have a Problem! Is the indicator broken? Matt let me get your take on your Net H/L indicator for IXIC without trying to put words in your mouth. It's been on a Sell signal since March 9th for all but a few days into April 21 this most recent Friday. But let me ask you to focus on the first half of the Sell Signal from March9 to March 31st when IXIC moved UP from 11,335.-ish to 122218.-ish. Whats Up, and Thanks for your insight.
Excellent commentary. I love the power and simplicity of the humble moving average and have found it very useful. Rock on.
Brilliant video. Thanks, Matt. As they say, sometimes less is more. I have been trading for 20+ years, which has clarified it for me.
I use Slow stochastic and bollinger bands. Thanks Matt.

Great insights... thank you for putting up these videos. What is the best MA settings in your opinion for FOREX traders that opens a position on Monday and close it on a Friday?
I like the 10 and 20 ema and 50 and 200 sma. That’s about all I use or at least put more importance to.
What’s your thoughts on using candlestick patterns as trend indicators? Many thanks.
Thanks for this video! I personally use 21day ema, 50day sma i 200day sma
Those are my favorites too
i use 10 - 20 - 50 - 200
the most important for me is the 50 sma as am looking for medium term trends as a position investor
Same here. Though, I use some shorter averages just for specific types of entries.
Thank you for this! Great lesson!!
My pleasure!

I haven't, but I like the idea. I've done some work on moving average slopes...

I'm glad you enjoyed it!
That's brilliant! If you add EMA 21 and EMA 10 crossover to the PPO indicator you can get one of the best trading strategies around.
Thanks. Great video. Plz more than! I use ema8 ema21 ma50 ma200. Stochastic
We have the same averages on our chart ;)

Could you do an explainer on trading volumes and their significance?
Sure, I'll put it down as an upcoming video

I think it is working very well. I recently discussed this in detail on the IBD podcast th-cam.com/video/SvpP325feLo/w-d-xo.html
