One of my buddies called Novak years ago when he started this helping people journey. Told me they talked for over an hour. Explaining it like they were just 2 dudes talking. Friend has been clean for 2 years now. The dude is legit and just enjoys helping people. Would highly recommend if you’re struggling. I also Hope the best for Bam.

So many other countries have realized that offering opioid addicts better options for substitution - like pharmaceutical diamorphine, morphine, and hydromorphone (even fentanyl for those who need it) - is the best step we can take to relieve the cycle of misery and exploitation.

It sucks, I think about killing myself all the time. Im going to start a slow detox next time I go to the clinic, so hopefully things will get better.

Novak is so good at explaining the battles of addiction and how people will rationalize using certain substances so it doesn’t make them feel like they are doing such a horrible thing. Exactly what he is explaining is exactly what happened to most of us. The hardest battle is getting back on the right path and staying on that path. I hung out with Novak and bam on 2 separate occasions back when he was such a lost soul. First time I met him was at a taking back Sunday and my chemical romance concert in like 2007. I was upstairs on the balcony next to the bar and I felt someone put their hand on my shoulder, I turned around ready to punch someone in the mouth for touching me and it was bam and Novak. Ended up hanging out with them for about 45 mins or so drinking a few drinks before they worked their way up to the side of the stage.

Then I tried AA meetings and it was more of the same but just coming from friendlier people and with more of a "there is only one path to sobriety" mindset. If it works for people I think that's great, but it was not a good fit for me at all. For the first year or so I didn't drink just to prove those people wrong.
