New sub. I love that you keep it real. Hello here from Upstate SC USA. Beautiful operation and property you have there in the Bay of Plenty! Thanks for showing us the way ..... all the way from NZ xoxo
You could make your own cool room… just frame out a small spot and insulate the walls, and for the cooling get an old window ac unit, and there’s an item called a “coolbot” that works with the ac..
I love how tidy your garden, glasshouses and sheds are - well done! I strongly encourage you not to ditch the cardboard. It’s doing lots of good things and it doesn’t matter that it’s not breaking down as quickly as you thought it would. 1) Roots are stronger than shoots. The roots of your crops can easily make their way thru the cardboard and into your soil, while at the same time the cardboard blocks light and smothers weeds from surfacing; 2) Worms love eating cardboard - they’ll come from all around to feast. Worms and their poos are a key ingredient to creating healthy soil; 3) Cardboard is a great carbon source, another key ingredient to creating healthy soil. All this and you can find cardboard everywhere for free! Super valuable resource. Reconsider ditching it.
Thank you for this detailed walkthrough! I’m just setting up also - can you share where the weed matting is from? Looking for good quality weedmat that won’t rip super fast (I’m also in NZ).
I can’t remember exactly where we got this from but I have bought it from a few places now. I always look for woven fabric that is flexible. Also I look for fabric that has a “soft” feel rather than that very stiff plastic feel. This is because it cuts better, is easier to work with, and lasts longer. I would suggest looking at the fabric that farmlands stock, they usually have good quality and great prices
I've made a cool room very cheap with a reconditioned compressor then just made a large insulated box on site. I'm up here for a month are you keen on some free labour for the odd day. It would give me more of an idea on gardening at a larger scale for down south.
If you can collect rain water from all your roofs and use it on your gardens it wll be better than town supply. No chemicals. Or better still your own well if possible.
Hey. We are starting a small market garden this year. I was wondering where you buy your cell trays for propagation? If you bottom water where do you get water tight trays? Also I saw you have large packets from king seeds is that through wholesale? Sorry for all the questions 😊
Going great guns Georgia :) Like my alliteration? lol....oooh a Cool Room - thats what I am trying to convince Glen to get me :) I shall watch that space with interest :) I AM however getting a freezedryer!!!! WOOHOO :) xxx
Love the walk through of the layout! Not sure where you are at with the cool room but there is a channel we follow that was using a cool bot which sounded pretty inexpensive! ♥️✌🏼Jamie
Enjoyed this video Georgia! I have my first urban greenhouse and am hooked, so will be following your journey and hope to learn some things along the way! I wish you all the very best, what a magic spot you have there.
Thanks for producing this content. I appreciate it. Can you provide any more information on the metal row cover structures? Did you buy or make them? The top wire keeping the insect netting in place looks simple and effective!
Hi from Texas just found your channel a week ago. Love it keep up the good work. Sorry hear about your mom praying for you and your family.
Thanks and welcome 🙏
The outtakes were so funny, you did an awesome job on this video, I learned a lot! Hello from Antigonish, Nova Scotia, Canada!

Thank you so much for your videos. Torben Gram, from Denmark
For a cool room just heavily insulate all walls, floor, and ceiling. Then run an airtight window air conditioner threw the wall 👍🏼.

I see your introduction shows gardens already in production.
At what stage did you decide to start a TH-cam channel?
Lol just popped up on youtube. Didn't see this was 2 years ago 🤔
The bloopers had me rolling 😂😂
So glad I found this channel , could you please tell me where you get your seed trays from ? Especially the 32 cell :)
Hi Racheal! I'm glad you like my videos! We get our seed trays from Daltons (commercial)!

Hi John! We bought the metal frame and wires from Redpath and the insect net from Polynet. Links in the description above 😁👍
