I have a MK2 but when I try to record the guitar over the beat, as soon as I press the record button the recording starts, rather than allowing me time to pick up,the guitar and get ready for the start of the drum loop,to play the first note (hope,that makes sense). @@MemorableJ and Lachan, I found a way of doing after all, connecting Mk akai semi directly to RC. You need either a midi host, or you can use your phone as midi host with A midi controller app (I am using volcano midi controller). Works very well, you can use the keys and pads from akai for the beats within RC, and use the knobs to control other functions from RC. Cheers

    Howdy. Love your work!! :) I know this question has been asked and asked....but I'm still looking for a definitive answer? a) can I connect Akai directly into Boss RC505?; or b) Does it have to go into laptop and then as an input to RC505?....in which case, dies it then use the AKAI software?....or do you need other laptop software? Historically, I've been using my RC505 as my DAW? Tx, in advance, for your help, man p.s. I've been using Audacity on my laptop!.....but work mainly only with my loop station?

  • @kwajongenscommunicatie6201
    @kwajongenscommunicatie6201 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Hi, newbie here - so I guess you have your computer output to the input, and there's no sound in the room, onlly on your headphone. And the sound we hear is the same as the headphone output - Otherwise you would record every sound filling the room :)
    Now for live performances - how does that work? Because when the music is playing, and you'll record something in the mike - it will pickup not only your voice but also the sound of the music already playing. I don't get how that works. Can you explain?

    • @lachlancarr9860
      @lachlancarr9860  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey! Good questions.
      So, during live performances - I have a pedal that I run my mic through that actually allows me to switch it off so that there are no interferences.
      You can still perform without it if your speakers are facing away from you… however that makes it problematic as you cannot hear yourself properly…
      For sections where I loop the vocals - I try to stop all of the hard hitting loops so that there is not as a much noice bouncing back into the mic etc.
      The pedal I use is from a company called Loopi Pedals
      www.loopipedals.com.au/product/microphone-ab-output-switch-pedal/
      Check out this link here to look at the pedal if you would like.

      Thanks for the answer! Lachlan - i love Your chanel, im diging it - it is so inspiring.
      I perform live on the street and in the restaurant and willing to do stuff like You do on my live shows in gastro-places. I've just bought 505mk2 [before buink 505 i've learned how to loop on rc30 and quickly stopped using it cause i felt how it limits me, and found inspiration such as Your chanel where You use rc505].
      Do You still use 505 mk1?
      By the way, maybe You its time to update your gear to 505mk2 and do some vids on that? Difrerences etc. Think about it. F.e. update if You still Use the way of making loops you describe on this video or maybe you improved it and describe how and why etc? :)
      Cause i see that You havent updated any vid on YT recently. Im hopeful that you will.
      Or maybe You've gone on another platform where You update Your vids?
      Do what You do here! I've found other yt loop creators and i liked Your the most.
      You will grow here, but keep laboriously doing it!!! You will grow so big if You keep doing it! Patience is needed for it.
      Im also kind of a teacher [one of my job]. I work with kids and willing to go deeper into the live-music shows.
