What a dreadful experience. Proof though of how well Fuji build their products. Lesson to all of us to check, check and check again when using a tripod on sand or uneven surfaces. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Jon. Yes - quite and “experience”!!! I was staggered that Fuji’s build quality and some quick work to try and get sand and salt and water off the camera and out of its crevices did seem to work out. But I certainly wouldn’t encourage it! I have used wave movement to settle and secure tripods in the sand, and never had a problem - expect the unexpected!!! Cheers, Keith
Well life can be bumpy at times. Seems as if things are smoothing out. With regard to the camera dunking, just think of it as adding patina to equipment and gear-- no charge. Actually you need to go buy a lottery ticket.
