- I brought a replacement rt6 sat nav / media screen off ebay to replace my faulty one. Here's my video of how to take it out and replace it. I hope someone might find it useful!
One day it suddenly stopped working whilst driving along. Just faint vertical lines would show on the screen and nothing else :(
Luckily I found this replacement one on ebay at a very good price. I'm no mechanic but turned out to be a pretty easy job to replace.

Anyone know if you can update sat navigation on 2013 508 without going to a dealer. Mine is now well out of date seeing it is now 2024.
I have one but the problem is that it turns on but then starts like flickering or flashing maybe the backlight but the it goes completely black!!! Do you think it's the display?

Hello mate, thanks for the kind words. The listing on eBay for the replacement screen literally just said ‘2011 Peugeot 508 radio display screen’ and I could see from the photos it was the right one

I've heard that the issue with those defective screens can be solved by updating the firmware. Why then did you decide to buy a new screen? Wouldn't it have been cheaper to download an update than buying a complete screen? I don't know if my question makes sense but anyway I'm really thankful for your answer.
@@bnj4566 I hope that might solve it for you. I’m no expert it’s just what I thought was needed. £56 for a used unit on eBay wasn’t bad at all so I went for it

My screen works, but the whole infotainment system has troubles turning on. It's totally random, I have no idea why it sometimes won't turn on for 20 sec sometimes for 30 min.
EDIT: Fixed. SD card was on the end of its cycle, installed new one with new software, works now.

Jesi li mozda dokucio sto je problem sa multimediom....imam isti problem....prije je bilo jednom u dva mjeseca da se ne upali odmah a sada je vrlo cesto.....i uglavnom kada je toplo i recimo nakon nekoliko sati voznje ....ugasim li auto multimedia je ne pali....

@@josiptolmacevic6611 E da, SD kartica je na samrti bila. To se navodno desava svakako, cijeli sustav je na njoj, od GPSa do radija.
Naravno, u sluzbenom servisu ce ti zamijenit cijeli panel (dashboard), ali nasli smo covjeka koji je to naucio raditi i uspio je otvoriti kutiju u dashboardu i instalirao je sustav na novu SD karticu i samo to zamijenio.
@@kresimircosic9035 jos kada bi bio tako ljubazan da mi kazes kako da dodjem do tog covijeka.....moze i preko Messengera(fb)...

Hi buddy not sure on that, I would measure it from bottom left to top right to get the size, only a few millimetres is hidden behind the trim.

It was only the screen for me, the radio still worked so sounds like you have a slightly different issue there
mine sometimes turned on sometimes was off for several days .. now it can no longer turn on .. according to your opinion mine doesn't turn on anymore because the screen is also broken?
My screen just went black one day while driving along for no apparent reason. Replacement screen solved it so must have been a dodgy screen in my case. Everything else seemed fine just no display.
@@roogie1774 thanks for your answer .. mine does not turn on just not a sign of life .. I do not understand if it is a question of some fuse or other .. in this case I wait to change the screen..I do not know where the fuse of this car radio is located .. in the fuse box which is in the front bonnet compartment I found only large amperage fuses .. and I think it is a low amperage fuse .. but I can't look for it .. I would not like to bring the car to service otherwise I will be looking for many money doing nothing ..

Thanks for the video, one question though, how did you manage to get the bottom silver metal plug off the socket on the back of the screen, can't work out how to get it off?
Andy Dunn the silver metal one pulls straight off, mine needed a good wiggle and bit of encouragement but nothing else holding it in. Good luck!

Hi mate, when your old screen was dead, was your audio system working? I.e. can you still play music in the background without screen. Or was that all dead too?
MASA hello mate, yep radio and everything was still working, just a dead screen.
@@roogie1774 ahh right thanks, mine doesnt load anything atm, the whole audio system is dead :( AC and everything works, just no music, Navigation etc.
MASA that’s a bummer ☹️ I’m no expert but I think the radio and screen are totally separate things. Have you checked fuses? Might be lucky if it’s as simple as that

@@bitolass I went to these diagnostic guys and they have said its the actual stereo that is the problem, the screen is perfect. Had a look on ebay, stereo is £500 used, I mean that's like a quarter of the value of the whole car lol. Rang some Peugeot dealers but they stopped supporting this unfortunately. Have you tried to open it up and mess around with the wires?

Rami Elawad for me it seemed the screen was just dead as installing another used unit fixed it. Nothing I tried with the old screen would bring it back to life

It was a one off from a car spares seller on eBay, you just have to keep looking see if one comes up from a breakers / spares seller

£47 off eBay if I remember right, lucky find I think as some others in there for much more when I was looking

Can you adapt a rear camera to this system? Or do you have to switch to another screen?
