I hate that people give him a hard time. He’s always coming up with these unique worlds, creating a mythology of his own. His scripts may need some polishing, especially at the end, but I can always feel his passion, and to me that’s inspiring.

I think he brings a cultural influence from Hindu spirituality (not sure what religion he is) that deals with the soul in a way some people dont understand. In the future people will celebrate him as an underrated genius

I so agree...not all of his stories hit the mark but I love all his films...I always see what they were going for...The Happening is so much better than it is given credit to be though I do struggle with Lady in the Water...the rest of his "thrillers"...so on the mark...SIGNS is my favorite because it is so multilayered.
Knock at the Cabin was subtle and I did enjoy it...

He really is an exceptional story teller. If you notice while hes talking about his impressionability as a child there are no cuts at all.

@@gbeatz4844 I think you're misunderstanding what I was implying in my original comment. Right before I saw Shyamalan's movies I was suicidally depressed with no goals in my life and no hope for the future. His movies helped me find a purpose in life. If I didn't see them at the time, I wouldn't live for more than a couple of months from that point.

I like your movies and stories, Mr. M. Night.
Don't listen to those 'last air bender' fans who gave you a hard time.

You've done some bad movies, so what? Every good director have.

@@southlondon86 Don't get me wrong. I like James Cameron movies. Titanic, Aliens, Terminator 1 &2, True Lies; his deep water documentaries, list goes on. Avatar was an amazingly innovative movie in so many aspects, he's a pioneer. I appreciate what he has done for movies and cinema, but AVATAR, idk.

    He spoke of Charles Bukowski
The poem is your life is your life.

he meant if you are considering something else and you feel like you can LIVE doing other things then maybe just do those things and having Filmmaking as the only way forward helps you to be successful. Same can also be said about sports. That's a good advice. Maybe you should stop being a kid and and stop picking his quotes line by line , word by word like literally.
