tbh am graduating this year and I'm in this "Graduate depression" phase. I have my BA in accounting but now what? I feel like I don't know everything that I need to know. Will companies expect me to know everything? Are they willing to train or teach things that have been forgotten? Because I feel like I don't know a lot ... does that mean ill get paid less than other accountants? Im stressed out just applying to jobs because I fear that if I don't know all of the job requirements perfectly, ill be fired in a months time or less. Can you do a video on this? Im also black with dreads.... So do the companies care a lot about how you look? or do they ask you to change your look? Thank you!
Also graduating this year! I understand your worries because I feel that I also am in the same position. I think that you should have faith that a good company (so make sure to try do some research on the reputation of the company's work culture etc.) will brush up on your knowledge- because I feel like it's a common expectation that university students are not getting the full expanse of information we need to be prepared for an accountancy job straight out of college (at least where I live), not to mention the fact that everyone's just going to have different protocols when it comes to things so no matter who gets into the job they're going to need to train them. So with all of that given I'm in an audit firm currently and they did give us quite a bit of training and I get quite a bit of guidance/support on the job as an intern. Just make sure to be inquisitive, try to leverage your linkedin to ask questions (about work culture, expectations, mobility in the firm, exam support etc) to people who are currently employed in a place you sent in an application to (the worst you can get is a no or you just decide not to go with that company). Hope this helpss !
You are tooo funny!! 😂 Also, for what it's worth, I thought your twist out looked great!
😂 thank you girl! that was a hard handful of days lol
I feel for people that struggle with sleep disorders. After two days I think I would catch a case.
Me too! One night is disheveling. You get into 2 and 3 and it flips to a mishmash of murder she wrote sooo fast 😩.
