Lol, I'm the real life sim 😅 I actually have a stocked bar in my home - from beer to hard liquor, cocktail shakers, special glasses, and to top it all off special ice (xl spheres and cubes).
I've never used Basemental drug mod (due to a real-life experience with drug addiction), but the animations are great. I wonder if they can have negative effects from using drugs, alcohol, and cigarettes. If so, I may try it! I love all the other mods you highlighted here. SimRealists banking mod works like the vault in game. When you have simoleons in the account they don't count against your household's money cap.
With Basemental Drugs you can become addicted, experience WILD mood swings, get cancer, develop bad habits, etc. Yeah, it's not all fun and games for the Sims. She can't cover them on YTube but in addition to marijuana and cigarettes, there is also cocaine, speed, mushrooms, LSD, Xanax, anabolic steroids, Lean...a whole slew of horrible things to become addicted to. It also has personality traits you can buy with whim points to be a lightweight, heavyweight or immune to cancer, etc. It's very detailed. You can also become a drug dealer and cut your own product for profit!
I love the basemental drug mod .. they do have negative effects actually! if they smoke cigarettes, other sims can smell it n tend to get a mood buff like the sims smell like it n the other get an uncomfortable mood. they also can get addicted to the drugs (i.e. when you make them smoke weed they can become a stoner) if they start doing cocaine / others they will become hooked. when the effects of the drug go away the sim will become sad or uncomfortable saying they need it (unless they aren’t hooked) but you can even send them to rehab
There’s so many option with the drugs mod not just taking drugs. Also so many consequences good and bad. U can also assign townies/anyone with certain autonomous substances and how often/addicted they are. Also grow weed, become a dealer, share drugs, go to rehab, buy prescription drugs, vape, go on the dark web, write trip reports. So many options
I love the Decoration Skills of your Videos. So much work you must have done before recording not only with the Homes but all the Mods needed to be Installed.

i've used basemental drugs ever since i got the game and could download it, i've made my sims do a ton of things and in every storyline i make, at least one is addicted to coke, and yet nothing ever happens. BUT THE ONE TIME i got someone addicted to nicotine, the most common thing except coffee and sugar to be addicted to, he got fkn cancer. nothing else have ever happened health wise.
She is tipsy, the night doesn't have to be over yet...Well it is 8 a.m., but she doesn't have work for a few more hours. Real life achievement unlocked 😂
Umm I love the office idea! What did you make the lot (residential, generic, etc.) that you got everyone to turn up in office attire? Would be great for freelancers to have an HQ! Love that fridge btw! edit: right, also in the personality traits that you can buy with points you earn with whims or aspiration challenges, with the Basemental mod there are traits like 'easily addictive' 'heavyweight' etc. so that might help a little.
Replying in hopes of bumping this--how did you make the office? To the best of my knowledge, you can't even change an apartment to another lot type, plus what mod did you use to get her to go to work in an active workplace? So many unanswered questions!
@@rachelwolfe1751 Right, I went in right after watching the video and tried to replicate it, I think I found the right lot she was using, but could not find anything similar in style or what felt like a suitable group office on the Gallery (where I believe she said she found the office she was using). And no, cannot change lot style and thought I'd use the idea of making a 'work office' club to get everyone there. I just can't find any office that isn't a private home office (singular desk, etc.) either in rooms or lots. I don't know all the mods she uses, so the whole office thing could be entirely dependent on that.
Maybe set up a genetic lot like an office, create a club, and the only people who can enter are club members? I might try that and see if it works lol. No help with the apartment lot type tho 😫
i wanted to try and give a sim an addiction too and it took having her pop multiple adderall a day for like 2 full sim years until the addicted buff popped up for me 😳
It actually takes quite a while to build an addiction in the game. But you can give them a reward trait of an addict to a specific drug or go to cheat sim info and give them that trait (I don't remember which mod allows you to do that, I have too many to count💀)
You should do a new one of these now that basemental has updated so that there are "once an addict always an addict" trait you get when the sim has become clean, with moods such as craving again and a new AA system with sponsors
Re: drunkenness on basemental drugs - a sim has a chance of becoming an alcoholic after a heavy night . This causes an uncomfortable moodlet that lasts 2 weeks and resets to 2 weeks if your sim has another drink in that time ! It doesn’t appear to be a permanent occurrence tho - ie. once your sim has overcome alcoholism by abstaining for 2 weeks , they are able to drink comfortably in moderation afterwards .
For one, I’m new here and I love your channel. Second yiu couldn’t go to therapy because you did pick an health care option for insurance! It’s new. It’s apart of the healthcare mode update! Let’s keep the series in real life addiction. To alcohol and smoking. That’s real life ish. Lol. And with her being a writer it can be a mess up or a positive (you pick) for her career!! Lol I like where this LP is going lol.

I don't think an addiction to smoking is even a thing, I think it just means that she's a smoker. You'd have to get her addicted to the real serious stuff like pills or cocaine or just straight up an alcoholic but smoking is not the way to go.

Kuttoe's Basemental addons lets you drink beer from the fridge with no need for a bar in your home (which is not very realistic).
Totally going to try that mod!
