    Hey, I stumbled across your channel pretty recently and wanted to leave some comment to let you know how cool I think your videos are. I really hope you're not done with this channel, because you make some of the most creative and thought provoking content for 5e that I've seen in a long time. You might never read this, but if you do, please keep going with this. Wishing you luck, man. I really hope to hear more from this channel down the line.

    Very cool video!! I love the Ravnica setting. I would also definitely recommend Phoenix Performance Coaching to anybody looking to better their health and gaming skills! They are very easy to work with and tailored the workouts to my lifestyle and goals.

    Hey man, been a while since you put out a video and I know life gets busy, but we all hope you will be able to hop back in! You were one of the best up and comers on here, and the content was always excellent.

    My current character, Axel, is a Merfolk that is reflavored as an Axolotl because that’s fun. I also reflavored the Celestial Warlock subclass for him to something more traditionally Warlock themed. Let’s just say Axel’s bud is definitely a celestial being.

    The best Simic Hybrid reflavoring I’ve made was a Triton Warlock who’s patron was a symbiotic water elemental. All of his warlock attacks and adaptations were just the elemental lashing out from his body like venom.

    I was always wondering, how to use Simic Hybrid in other settings. I think that this whole "mutation" can be reflavored as something like gothic lineages, but with becoming mutant not vampire, hag or Frankenstein's monster.

    Here’s one that I did recently for the Leonin at a Convention. Change out the Claws for a Bite, call it a Demented Laugh instead of Daunting Roar and you got yourself a Gnoll.

      And would you believe me that, on top of the reskinning, I can physically do the aforementioned Demented Laugh?

    I love your ideas, and creative theory of interpreting 5e. Please consider a series of vids about classic fantasy character types and how many ways they can be interpreted through different class, race and background combinations. Like a Merlin type mage could be anything from wizard to druid. A witch could be fey like, or shadowy, or dark cleric etc. I assume you'd have a lot to say about that line of character creation. Like a cleric could be fighter, healer, necromancer....

    I already DID make a moth-girl (with a cat-tail) by reflavoring an Owlin. Her name is Nekoga. But now I have more ideas for reflavoring races... and I definitely now want to make a Centaur character based on Sagitar from "The New Adventures Of He-Man." He's a four-armed humanoid, but he can drop onto the knuckles of his lower set of hands to gallop like a horse and even carry He-Man on his back.

    Just as a heads up "Mongrelfolk" are based off an incredibly racist depiction of mixed-race people and the term "mongrel" is a racist slur for the same. I would recommend not advocating for their use in the future.

    • @TheClericCorner
      @TheClericCorner  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      What exactly makes them racist?

    • @Beavermancer
      @Beavermancer ปีที่แล้ว

      @The Cleric Corner The original description of the race from earlier editions describes them being a mixed of multiple races which results in them being cognitively disabled as a result. It lends to racial stereotyping that people of mixed race are also lesser than "pure" races and as a result are "less desired mongrels." LegalKimchi talks about the issue in their video on Bioessentialism in Gaming (if I remember correctly) and the Asians Represent Podcast discuss it in their episode on Mixed Race Representation in D&D. I don't think it's a widely known issue, unfortunately, which is why I bring it up.

    • @TheClericCorner
      @TheClericCorner  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Beavermancer wasn't the mixture of races due to magical experimentation and not hereditary?

    • @Beavermancer
      @Beavermancer ปีที่แล้ว

      @The Cleric Corner Not particularly relevant considering it still reinforces negative stereotyping of mixed-race people and uses a slur in its very name.

    • @TheClericCorner
      @TheClericCorner  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Beavermancer I think it's very relevant. Genetic splicing is arguably very unnatural, and can cause a countless amount of unforseen consequences in those experimented on. Put gills on a monkey and of course you may run into some issues. Forgive my limited knowledge of lore, but if it is indeed hereditary half-breeds, I could definitely see that as racist. However, if it is a result of magical-genetic engineering, I feel like it's pretty close to scientific reality. I mean, look at the Pug dog lol. A product of human intervention on genetic direction. The result: an animal with extreme breathing issues.
      As for the definition, Mongrel simply means: "any animal resulting from the crossing of different breeds or types." So unless you are using a connotation of the word I am unaware of, the denotation seems pretty accurate.
