Great video, we sometimes forget stationary ball handling isn't JUST working on ball control

I love how you don't delete or cut out footages where you make mistakes. When you see other tutorials, they only put footages of them doing the perfect move and making shots, and they don't show the mistakes.

All good advice. Something to keep in mind: if you’re doing stationary drills and you’re bored or it feels easy or comfortable, you’re not getting much benefit. The more uncomfortable you feel, the more you’re learning and progressing.

Essentially incorporating movement into stationary drills. Genius 💎

    Speed change
    Height change
    Dribbling to music
Dribbling to a rhythm you make
    Freestyle

Imagine playing PHONK music while dribbling with the rythm of the music 💀

I do all of this with my players. The one thing I do like about traditional stationary ball handling is that you can get a ton of reps very quickly and that's very important when you have limited time. To me stationary is strictly for ball control purposes. It's not for learning moves or learning how to break down your defender. Once you have the ball control you can start getting into your bag with different moves

Great video as usual. IMO, I don't think stationary dribbling drills are good for learning moves to break down your defender or handling game situations in general. I think they are good for developing dribbling athleticism and the Payton Pritchard video that's out there from when he was in high school is a good example of this genre of drill.

What if you need to strengthen your forearms for better ball security?

I don’t think that plays much of a part, tbh.

I'd guess there are better ways to strengthen your forearms. Like palming the ball (or trying to, if you can't)

try relaxing your offhand. I spent the longest time being bad at my off-hand dribbling because I was trying too hard to do it right. Relax your arm and be as fluid as possible
