omggggg this video was SO FUN!!! On the Shadowland - girrrrrl i hated the gold gilding too. I sanded mine off (kinda/mostly?) and then edged in black and it did help. Everyday Witch standard AND mini - yassssss - me tooooo!!! :) YES, Deviant Moon is totally different once it's in hand!!! I probably would have been all about Nightmare Before Christmas if I had known the movie better but it wasn't a fandom thing for me at all. Had to stop watching at 28:45 because, well you know why. LOL LUV YOU THO.
I have The Shadowland Tarot and just LOOOOOVE IT!! It's a bit different style of art and the energy is different as well and really, I don't mind the yellow/gold gilding. 😀 Shadowland Tarot is a Deck that is.....just different and unique and people who are interested in should watch walk through a for awhile before purchasing them. That Deck every time I watched a walk through I get excited out of my skin, and I didn't get that with The Darkwoods Tarot, really like it, but I felt I had to choose between the two due to them being out the same time frame, so I chose the Shadowland due to me getting wicked excited about that than the Dark Woods Tarot and got it for my birthday this pass summer from the hubby. So pretty much what I'm getting at is The Shadowland Tarot is a different unique deck made for ''a select few'' that get what the deck is about. If that makes sense.
That's what's so great about tarot, it all hits us differently. So glad you have a great relationship with the Shadowland. It is very well done, I'm just sad that it wasn't for me. It has all the things I love. The good part is, I am sure there is someone out there that will love it so much better than I could-so I don't feel bad rehoming this one!
What bugs me about Shadowlands is the bright yellow backs. They are just distracting against the images, but I agree that black edges would have been much better as well. But I like the deck in general. I don't like Dark Woods or Night Before because the cards are flimsy and the art is too commercial (Disney). Dark Mansions is a Halloween contender for me. Yes, the yellow is definitely jarring! I can totally understand that with Dark Wood and Nightmare 👻 I love the art for Dark Mansion, but don’t have that one! I hear the cardstock is divine!!

Great decks Dani. Glad your feeling better. I couldn't resist the nightmare before christmas deck. I was able to get The Messenger Oracle & really love it. I also love the dreaming way tarot. I got the faeries tarot & shadowscapes but have too busy to dive into them just yet.

Loved this! I thought I would wanna do decks I felt were super Halloweenish for October (Dark Mansions, Halloween Tarot). The end of September, I used the Halloween Tarot. After that, I like needed Druidcraft. Then, I had a dream about Crystal Visions, and now this week of halloween and last week has been all about Tarot of the Sidhe. Basically, I just went with the flow and it wasn't what I expected, but still good.
I don’t have any Halloween decks - kinda brand new to tarot 😜 I am looking forward to Mystic Masters, though 😍 pre-ordered and eagerly anticipating its arrival 😘
Oh man, the Hayworth...I haven't been so creeped out by a deck since the New Orleans VooDoo Tarot (I finally had to give up on that one, I just couldn't) It's so inexpensive too, I keep going to the website and almost doing it. The Halloween tarot is just so good, everyone ought to have one. My favorite card is the Ace of Bats, makes me giggle every time. I got Everyday Witch...and it was kidnapped by my youngest daughter, I can't be mad though, I told her, it makes a really excellent beginner deck. It is that young teen novel artwork, but also, it's super relatable, you almost don't even have to know any meanings or even read the book, you can make stories with just the illustrations. She also absconded with my Tarot of the Vampyres (Ian Daniels) and I gotta admit, I feel grouchy about that one, but I'm playing with two other Vampire decks, RM Places (love it) and Nathalie Hertz' - both are kind of semi-illustrated pip decks and I really love them. I've been on both sides of the fence with Deviant Moon as well. I had the borderless, and I got what was going on, saw the meanings pretty easily, but just wasn't moved (really is was that I am a #cardstocksnob)...I like Triomphe much better (and the Oracle of Black Enchantment BLOOD edition)...but I ended up feeling like I needed to have DM back...just for kicks, so I got the bordered one, and then I took the borders off. huh, imagine that? I ADORE Edward Gorey and his sarcastic crazy weird world. When I was a kid, we got his book AMPHIGOREY - it's full of these gruesome spooky stories. Check it out. I ABSOLUTELY CANNOT wait for your deck, I love what you did, I think it's genius. Gushing, totally gushing. I am right there with Dustin, and I can't wait to see more walkthroughs. Shadowlands is another one, I keep going back to. I really hate those bright yellow backs...but should that stop me? I dunno. You could Dawn Michelle it, and guillotine the gilt off. If you are up for a trade, I might have something I could trade you, I have the Compendium of Constellations (Claire Goodchild) that doesn't get a whole lot of action in my practice....maybe it would in yours. I literally sold my Shadowland Tarot YESTERDAY. No lie. I put it up on Ebay and it sold same day. Bummer, I would have totally done a trade. Those are some great decks too-I have the Hush! Idk why I didn't throw that in here!! Thank you soo much!!
I LOVE the card faces on Shadowland and get disconnected when looking at the backs and gilding. It just feels like they belong on different backs...If I had the deck, i'd try re-backing - or painting the backs - and see what happened! Thanks for the reviews! ❤️~✿~❧~🌿~❧~✿~❤️
I’m a tarot reader, so I do spreads and read the cards. Tarot cards are structured, Oracle cards are not. There are many different interpretations of the tarot but most have similar archetypes.

I love going with that flow! I pepper in what I feel along with using these decks for sort of “themed” spreads!

I have a small cabinet that my tarot stays contained in, so decks sometimes come and go, but I love having some Halloween ones 🎃
