For the how many lineman are needed, there are usually 2 bucket workers, a crane operator(might be foreman), 1 or 2 ground people, and a foreman.
So 4-6 people. Don’t forget floggers though but that depends on what road you are on.

bob carter They’re changing a pole a few houses down from me after it was hit by THREE different vehicles in the last 18 months. Yeah they’re finally replacing it. The one right next to my house still has gaffers tape holding the crack running down 1/2 the legends of the pole. It’s been damaged for almost 4 years now. The utility worker told me we have to get someone to hit it before they’ll replace it. Unbelievable.

bob carter CT. Whenever the town has to pay for anything this happens. Of course there could also be hang ups with state owned light poles. The road was rebuilt to reduce a curve to apparently make it “safer” but there have been more accidents between my house and the pole a few houses down since the “improvements”. The last accident in December knocked down a light pole to the right of my driveway and cracked my neighbors sidewalk blocks. The sidewalk was immediately replaced however the state they opted not to replace the pole which is not a problem since the font of my house is lit up like a football field at night. One less light still makes no difference. The town went overboard wi5h the lights in the rebuild when they should have designed the road to be safer at the curve. I can understand a drunk person missing the corner but a sober person should have no excuse. I hope these idiots are getting their licenses suspended.

Have a few pieces. It’s made of non conductive rubber so if a live phase touched the coverup, it would not arc and destroy a crossarm/pole or cause a dangerous situation.

@@SicakGemb wood poles costs on average 400 dollars. Concrete polls are 4K each. Metal is 2.5k each and the cost to install concrete or metal costs about 5k. A wood pole about 1k. So electric boards work on a fixed per year budget. So utilities obviously go with the cheapest so the budget can cover payroll along with the general things that tear up along with maintaining and buying new equipment. You should have drawn the same conclusion out of common sense that it’s always a budget that determines what materials are used.
