Creed is like two raging storms crashing into one another. One storm is Tremonti's immaculate technique and writing ability. The other is the overwhelming cheese that is Scott Stapp.
Awesome cover, this song brings back memories. 30yo now, back in 1999-2000 I remember waking up at like 5:30am on sunday morning to watch the local music program and I would sit and watch for hours and this is one of the songs I would look forward to seeing. Then back in 2001 my dad got a cassette walkman and one day I went through his collection and he had Human Clay on cassette, so I use to listen to it alot but unfortunetly one day it stopped working (I think I wore it out). Fastforward to 2008 when I really started getting into music and had the means to buy music, I started listening to Alter Bridge in 2008, but I didn't really become AB obssessed until mid of 2009, not long after the release of ABIII, I decided to find out all things AB, and when I came uncross the name "Creed" I thought that sounds familiar. When I looked Creed up on TH-cam it blew my mind. After all that time of listening to AB I had no idea that I had been listening to Tremonti, Phillips & Marshall long before Alter Bridge, but also I hardly ever heard Creed from 2002-2010. I instantly fell in love with Human Clay after re-listening to it after all those years
Hell yeah bro, crazy you didn't know Creed first. I just caught AB live on Friday, great show it was! Crowd went nuts over Broken Wings and Blackbird lol
Awesome story and very similar to how I discovered Creed as well. I remember my mom had Human Clay and My Own Prison CD's that she'd play when I was younger. Common soundtrack's on my ride to school and baseball and whatnot when I was a kid and Creed became one of the first bands that started me on my whole musical journey. I love early Alter Bridge as well but those first 3 Creed albums just hold so much nostalgia for me still to this day.
@@gwarfan9930 Awesome, I live toward the top of Western Australia and when most bands finally come to Australia they only have a couple shows on the east coast, so I've only been able to see Alter Bridge live once back in 2017 (so I hope they back back soon), as well as Myles/Slash once. Even though Blackbird is and will forever by my #1 and it was so awesome to see live, Open Your Eyes was the highlight for me. I'd give anything to see them live again.
Very well done, bro! 🤘 The wife and I went to see them in Mississippi last weekend along with 3 Doors Down and Mammoth WVH. Epic show! Found your video to study how this song is played.
This song was brand new when my mom was pregnant with my younger brother and since he was having a boy it became my mom and I’s welcome to the world song for my brother

@@hllywdunddnnpnt Damn, sucks they don't venture out to Australia as often. Hell yeah, you caught them live at least, Myles with Conspirators too!
Definitely a classic Creed tune. It gives you that kinda fuzzy feeling when you listen to it. Sounds amazing brother, keep it up!!
