    Ron Paul destroys Bernanke in a Q&A Session by bringing up the real rate of inflation (at least 9%) and at one point pulling out a silver dollar, which has maintained it's purchasing power rather well since Bernanke came into office in 2006.

    Sales tax and capital gains tax harms gold and silver as money like Ron Paul said. Just buy gold and silver online (no sales tax) and stack em high. No sale no capital gains. They are stable (non spoiling) commodities that will always have value unlike oil, soybeans etc.

    You are right. I will not buy anything with it so long as my dollars have purchasing power. Why should I spend precious gold when I can spend the paper that is floating around?? Max Keiser and Hugo Salinas have the answer to what Ron Paul has really been pushing for all these years. It's not a gold standard currency the world needs. It's a parallel silver coin (stamped by weight and not denominated with a set value) to run alongside the dollar that can be used as legal tender. The legal value of the coin would be variable and this value would be listed by the government on a daily basis based on the spot price for silver.

Investing in Gold now can save you down the road. These people predicted the economy crash and remained rich because they made the proper steps ahead of of time, they are once again predicting the soon to happen shift and are investing in gold to REMAIN rich. So, yeah.

    You completely miss the point. Gold is the money you would use to purchase these items. If you are buying enough now to last the rest of your life (highly unlikely) then maybe you wont need gold. Im not saying forsake necessities to stock up on gold and silver. I mean I can go to the grocery store and stock up up all day, but eventually I will need to buy more things. Do you really believe that having a few ounces of precious metal will not be of value to you??

  • @TrichsRUs
    @TrichsRUs 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    I was pretty stupid also. I naively spent money on watches and rings which are often overpriced and almost always undersold. If you are looking to store money in gold, purchase bullion and certified coins or bars. Even then, be careful not to pay too much over the spot price.

    While food will rot or go bad, metal retains its value and can be used for barter at a later date. Yes you would be holding metal, but this is not a bad thing. This is a main reason why holding wealth in money is beneficial. Sure there will be people starving, but then again there are people starving already. There will still be food. It will just cost money...paper will not be accepted.

    Problem with a ful 100% gold standard is growth.
    It would stagnate at some point since gold doesnt "grow" fast enough.
    But what Dr. Ron paul talks about is parallel currencies, not just paper money but the ability for people to choose how they pay and in what manner or currency.
    Like gold and silver.
    The point is diversity instead of 1 or 2 worthless paper money schemes like the dollar and the euro.
    There is no real competition if the system is the same.
