Have you tried checking the brake padel switch . May be you need to press the brake padel and then press the push button to start a car Since it has damage in that area it is possible the switch is not sending the signal to computer to crank it. Another way to check would be to press the brake and see if the brake light turn on. I am no expert but just my 2 cent

I work on VAG cars, VW, audi.... Our cars have diagnose interface computer or gateway, that computer enables comunication with all computers in car, some cars has that computer integrated in instrument cluster, I wuld start there

Flooded cars are an absolute nightmare 99% of the time. All the electronics on modern day cars will be corroded to death or will be very shortly. Same with the wiring loom and all the other parts where water got into . Best stay far away from these cars,completely restore them or consider them parts cars. I know,i had this happen multiple times at work.

That’s the big problem today with cars, trucks etc. you need to rely too much on electronics that are always locked and screw with the owners. How about Tesla, they have locked out the owner from their property since they refuse to buy new batteries from the factory at their outrageous prices. Rumor has it that there in the states the government wants to go to digital currency, basically they can hold your money hostage, they can bankrupt you overnight, the possibilities of the average individual getting screwed are endless if not by the government but also hackers.

ROTFLMFAO the + and - on the battery are instructions on how to properly connect and disconnect power without power surges that can fry any ecu without warning. When you Add + power Add + the positive First. When you subtract - power - remove the Negative first. Part changers and Walmart express employees like Rayban Ray never received proper training. Ask Any Mercedes technicians about power surges and proper procedures when connecting and disconnecting power.

I have seen a guy ruin his whole life over a POS junk car that was worthless when he got it and he poured $$$,$$$ and hundreds of hours into a car that was worth about $30k at the time.....this guy just would NOT LET GO of this POS. His wife left him and he ended up, 15 years later, living in his tow vehicle with nothing but this POS car, not running, on the trailer behind his tow vehicle.....and the POS car now worth virtually nothing......all over a f*cking Dodge Cordoba.....yes, folks....a f*cking Cordoba
@@Samcrac dude, I did this exact build. Salt water flooded 2001 GTS Viper. Runs like a champ. Rebuilt the engine and the electrical. This isn't that hard.
You have to push down on the clutch and the e-brake may have to be engaged as well before it will start. Your friend was not pushing down on the clutch
He hardly ever finishes a bigger project. Only ones he seems to kinda finish is pouring a mechanic in a bottle in a car. His chanel would be much more entertaining to watch if he completed them. Which is why I don't even watch him anymore.

build a Megasquirt and wire it into the car. I had a SL600 always in Limp mode. Swapped to Megasquirt with some GM parts and drove it for 3 years. Sold it to a neighbor and he has been driving it for 2 more years. I believe that' Viper is a simple car, no traction control or launch. Give it some fuel and spark and drive the hell out of it.
Would tranfering to Europe magically remove it's flood history? 'Cuz THAT I think would be something a lot of people in Florida would like to know right now.

Push in clutch for it to start. All standards are like that or every one I've had anyway. Even in neutral.

Use a aftermarket ECU like Haltec on it. Might be cheaper and faster.
Vipers are hard to rehab, but I'm glad to see them come back to life. They only made 31,000 cars... total...from 1992-2017.

If there is no communication between modules, the most obvious cause is corrosion. Pull all connectors apart and check for corrosion.
The obvious thing. Maybe clutch has to be pressed to start it.. like most cars.
i think this type of projects are for very passionate people who love spend time figuring how to make it work but more like a hobby than a business

You should clean those boards in an ultrasonic cleaner, using the right solution for PCB boards.
Definitely worth a try.
