What a simple, but strikingly beautiful and hearfelt prayer put to music. Denyce's round, warm and clear voice takes to this song like a perfectly fitted glove on the hand..👏🏽🙏🏽
This song is beautiful. I personally don’t like opera music because the range the voice goes but, I can recognize talent. Keep singing and get playing. The piano accompanied the vocalist well.
Wow! Where is the acknowledgement of Langston Hughes, who wrote the poem "Prayer"? The poem was first published in 1925 in a periodical called the Buccaneer, and it was subsequently published in Hughes's second collection of poetry, FINE CLOTHES TO THE JEW (1927). In all the credits, no mention is made of Langston Hughes.
This was an unlicensed use of the music - if the presenter had licensed, my organization would have provided proper credits for them to use. Music, poetry, copyrights.
One of the greatest singers of our time. I saw her in recital a few years back....what an artist!
