Relic is a good one to use in clean fields - it plucked a flat button for me down around a foot last spring.....if I remember correctly Relic is weighted more towards lower frequencies for high conducters and Gold field uses higer frequencies for lower conductors.

thank you, I've been asking what those settings mean for weeks. now I know. just need good weather to go test them out. is there a good coin hunting program that uses the I.A.R. setting?

I think you probably want to stick with normal DISCR for coins. Relic and Goldfield are not 2 programs I would try to configure for coins.

Have you tried using Gold or Relic with that disc ir setting coinshooting? Im waiting on my D2 delivered soon so i have no comment. Just curious if you tried is with/without any success.

No and I don't think I ever would. Relic and Gold are not made for coins.

Your are in PA, so am I, have you had better luck with Relic or Gold Field using IAR? I have never tried Gold Field before. Thanks for sharing.

Gold Field is a different beast and I don't recommend it. I do use Relic but I try to use very little filtering. Start with very little IAR and inch up until you find a good balance.
