This was the last dig of the 2017-2018 season in Westport Washington. The beach I was on was called Twin Harbor. It's my favorite beach to dig for razor clams. I also surf perch fish there. Hope you guys enjoy. Please like and subscribe to my new channel. Thank you.

Wow, that's amazing. Never seen anything like this. We have very different territory here in Louisiana. Bayous, swamps, marshy lakes, and some beaches (but none clean and open like this).

hey man nice video, btw can u use clamhawk to catch horseneck clams? I am not sure it works or not , if not , is there other good tools you use to catch them? thanks!

Well I’ve never tried it before. But you have to be careful with the clam guns. They bend easily. I wouldn’t use my clam guns for that.

How far down the beach do you usually go? Its so rocky by the first entrance. Sick clam hawk though. I should’ve had Steve customize mine.

It's been over 60 years since the last time I went razor clamming. Back then we used a clam shovel, this is a lot better! As I recall we looked for a bubble or air hole to locate them. I couldn't see the clam location??
Are you going to get back out there? I’m just waiting for the next dig to be approved.
What I look forward is a donut 🍩 shaped hole and small holes. Then I just dig them up :)
@@Death_Row_Anglers Not exactly, my family moved to Ca. in 59 and I have stayed here. This next weekend the Dungeness crab season opens, I don't go on weekends but I will be out Monday and Tuesday. It's a 4 hour trip to the coast so it's a killer on me!! I just recall all our clam hunting trips and loved them, I prefer eating the Crabs!!
I bought a clamhawk a couple of years ago and will finally get to use it for the first time on thursday opening day, my boyfriend and I are going to Twin Harbor, I'm so excited I can't sleep tonight. I'm like a kid waiting for Santa Claus LOL. Nice video!

Hello, yes I've been having a blast. It is a lot of fun finding the holes and the clams. I was supposed to go Saturday but my boyfriend and I broke up and I didn't want to look for clams in the rain. I'm going on the last dig this month - rain or shine - even if I have to go alone. How has it been for you? I've been catching my limit fast.

I’ve Been to pretty much ever dig, limiting fast like you :) I’m currently out of town. If I were there I’d go with ya. I have a fishing buddy that is planning to go to the next dig. Maybe you can link up with her so you don’t have to go alone.
@@Death_Row_Anglers that would be awesome. Hey I was wondering what kind of light do you use to find your vehicle? It gets so dark out there on the beach at night. I'm looking for a good flashing light that I can see far away. I seen that some people was using big red flashing lights, I searched online but have not found them yet. The flashing light that I have been using is way to small and disappears out of eyesight about 50 feet away.

It’s called a Clamhawg I think. I get them from a guy named Steve. Only tool I use for clamming

Haha, west coast clamming is sooo much different (easier) than east coast clamming. The rocky coast around here would destroy that clamhawk and those pacific razor clams are THICK. They make their atlantic cousins look like some scrawny little malnourished excuse for a bivalve. Well done!
Clauss Video Archive when I first start clamming. It was hard, because the beach I was going to was rocky, then I found a great spot and have been going there ever since :) I’m originally from the east coast. I’ll have to try it on the east coast. :) looking forward to your next vid

We just walk around looking for the shoes. Looking for small dime holes 🕳 in the sand. If there aren’t any shows. We will stomp around and try to get them to show. It’s easy once you get the hang of it :)

Wrong type of razor clams for my area. We have to dig ours out of the ground manually.

I lived in Seattle for 10 years then moved to CA, but still visit every blue moon or so. Never got to clam up there, but definitely got to do that next time.
I moved to washington from Cali. I was stationed in Monterey. Those clams are very tasty
