If this is a Sunn clone, not surprising. Those guys at Sunn thought distortion was the devil and based their amps on hifi circuits. There should be no power amp saturation. A clean power section is how you get that sound.
It's odd to see John playing a Schecter Reaper. I had the seven string multisclae for a while. Was a great guitar for the price. Schecter has been killing it the last few years.
